Lou Reed Reprises Berlin Album For Major Tour

Lou Reed.
Berlin was described as depressing when it was first released.
One of the most important pieces of work in Rock History or something that sounds like the howl of a dying otter.

Those are just two views of Lou Reed's seminal album Berlin which was first recorded thirty years ago.

Now Lou Reed is taking the music on the road. The singer/songwriter will be appearing in a series of concerts right across Europe.

I've never been interested in critical receptions, deceptions, hellos, goodbyes, huzzahs, hurrahs.

Lou Reed

He's been telling our arts correspondent Rebecca Jones, why it's taken so long.

First broadcast 2nd June
