Music Review

Updated weekly at 09:32 GMT on Friday

In this week’s Music Review Mark Lowther and Natalie Wheen look at the changes in classical music over the last five decades. Music Review has been broadcast on BBC WS since 1960 and so is in the unique position to chart the long-term impact of new technologies, the rapid expansion of concert repertoire and changing audience expectations on the daily lives of musicians and listeners.

The programme also carried exclusive reports from key moments in 20th century music history, such as the death of composer Igor Stravinsky or the Three Tenors extravaganza at the 1990 Football World Cup. This week you have a chance to re-live some of those key moments in music and radio history in the final edition of Music Review here on BBC WS.
