elcome to our international playwriting competition which is run in conjunction with the British Council.

We will be launching The International Playwriting Competition 2005 and its accompanying website in October 2004.

The BBC and the British Council would like to thank everyone who entered the competition this year.

The standard of entries was extremely high and the final decision was a very difficult one to arrive at.

Everyone who entered the competition will be sent a Certificate of Entry in due course, please be patient if you have not received yours as yet.

We need you to write a play in English of about 60 minutes in length.

The play must be original and unpublished and your own work.

Open to anyone not normally resident in the UK.
Your play must be with us in London by 30 April 2003.
