Jonathan Shapiro is South Africa's leading political cartoonist. Under the pen name Zapiro he has been poking fun at his country's political players for twenty years.
Shapiro became politically active after a stint in the South African army, using his pen to promote the then banned African National Congress party (ANC).
He was arrested and imprisoned without trial under the apartheid regime.
More recently Jonathan has been at the centre of a huge row over a cartoon depicting the ANC leader, and likely future president, Jacob Zuma.
Now a new exhibition of his work is showing in Johannesberg which brings together all his cartoons of Nelson Mandela.
