Every generation of young people has its sub groups, usually defined by the way they dress and the music they listen to.

In Britain it was Mods and Rockers in the 1950s, Punks in the Seventies and New Romantics in the Eighties, for example.

One current sub group are Emos, a name said to originate from the fact that they're "emotional".

Susana Seijas met Emos in Mexico City to find out what their culture is all about.

In March Emos made headlines around the world when Mexican Emos were physically attacked by conservative youths in the colonial city of Queretaro. And there have also been reports of attacks outside Mexico, in Chile.
