
Tony Blair has been the envoy of the quartet to the Middle East since 2007
It seems that change, in some form, is likely to arise as a result of popular protests in Egypt.
However, exactly what form that change will take remains unclear, as does the effect it might have on the region.
Egypt is a key player in the Middle East; many in the country have long opposed the government's strategy of making peace with Israel.
Tony Blair is the envoy of the quartet to the Middle East, on behalf of the UN, the EU, Russia and the US.
He spoke to the World Today's Max Pearson.
