Arrest of New York car bomb suspect puts pressure on Pakistan

More details are emerging about Faisal Shahzad, the Pakistan-born American who has been charged for the attempted car bomb attack in Times Square, New York.

Police traced Mr Shahzad through the car's ID number and phone records

The 30-year-old was arrested on Monday night at New York's JFK airport after boarding a plane for Dubai.

He faces terrorism and explosives charges.

His arrest puts renewed pressure on Pakistan, which is already engaged in a war against militants.

The BBC's Aleem Maqbool spoke to Pakistan's interior minister, Rehman Malik.
