
Hillary Clinton says new ties are being forged with Pakistan after 'years of misunderstandings'
Following the first of two days of high-level talks in Washington, senior American and Pakistani officials have been speaking of a 'new spirit of co-operation'.
The American Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who has been meeting the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, said their governments shared goals, including protecting their citizens from violent extremism and seeing Pakistan develop as a strong democracy.
