Concorde never recovered from a horrific crash near Paris Charles de Gaulle airport in 2000 in which 113 people died. Its last commercial flight was in October 2003.
There are less than three weeks to go to the end of the decade and many people are reflecting on the legacy of the years they call the 'noughties'- the 00 years.
Newshour's Lyse Doucet brought together a panel to look at some of the things that have been lost in the past decade, from Concorde to the Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan.
The panel included Indian journalist Jyoti Malhotra, Egyptian-born columnist Mona Eltahawy, Mike Finnerty of The Guardian and cultural historian Christopher Cook.
