'Whatever' is 'most annoying word'

A compilation of words or phrases that some people find annoying

Nearly half of Americans surveyed for a new poll said that "whatever" was the most annoying word that could be used in conversation.

The poll by the Marist Institute for Public Opinion received votes for "you know" and "anyway," but they were not even close to the 47% that "whatever" achieved.

Caroline Kennedy, the author and attorney - and daughter of former US president, John F Kennedy - tends to sprinkle her sentences with a a few too many "you knows".
