Ukraine struggles with Euro 2012 preparations
The renovation of Kiev's Olympic stadium has been beset by delays
Ukraine is co-hosting the European football championships in 2012 with Poland but preparations are going badly.
The country has been hit hard by the global economic crisis and is in considerable political turmoil as well.
UEFA, the governing body of European football, has given Ukraine until the end of November to improve its infrastructure or face losing matches to Poland.
As the BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse reports from Donetsk in Ukraine's industrial heartland, there is more at stake than just football.
