The World Today wins gold at the Sony Radio Academy Awards

World Today producers: Chloe Hadjimatheou, Rob Brown, Helena Merriman and Katie Dahlstrom revel in the victory.

The BBC World Service has won gold at the Sony Radio Academy Awards for its news and current affairs programme "The World Today".

The judges said the World Today's entry bubbled over with stories of real life from around the globe.

They added that the compassion, respect and understanding the programme had for every contributor shone through every minute of the competition entry.
