Susan Boyle is a 47-year-old woman from Scotland who walked on stage on a television talent show in the UK before a mocking audience that laughed out loud when she said she wanted to be famous for singing songs from musicals.

The audience was then struck dumb the moment she opened her mouth to sing.

Since then, her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables has become one of the most watched clips ever on YouTube and celebrities such as Demi Moore are among her fans.
