Gaza: a view from both sides

The United Nations' secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, has called on Israel to declare a unilateral ceasefire in Gaza.

Israeli forces have continued their bombardment of Gaza with some forty air strikes overnight.

Palestinian health officials say more than 1,100 people have been killed in the current conflict.

Liza Rosenberg is an Israeli writer who produces a blog called " Something Something".

Dr Jamal Al Shareef teaches linguistics at Al-Azhar University in Gaza and lives in nearby Beit Lahia.

Omar Sha'ban is an economist in Gaza.
