The Oscar-winning superstar was one of Hollywood's top actors, with a career spanning six decades.
Famed for his philanthropy as well as his acting, he had successful side careers as a racing car driver and creator of food products.

Together they founded a food company called Newman's Own, all the proceeds of which go to charity.
