The scheduled theme of the gathering is to review progress towards meeting the UN's Millennium Development Goals. However, other topics keep getting in the way.
Attending the General Assembly is Jeffrey Sachs, economist and one of the architects of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). He shares his thoughts on the day's debates.
