Extent of Burma cyclone revealed

Burma is struggling to cope with the aftermath of the cyclone

Satellite pictures taken from space are providing more information on the extent of Burma's catastrophe.

They show whole swathes of the country's vast and populous Irrawaddy delta submerged.

The BBC's Paul Danahar is one of the few journalists to have got into Burma since Cyclone Nargis hit on Saturday.

As the death toll mounts-- 100,000 people have been killed, according to an American diplomat in the country -- the priority of aid agencies is to address the needs of the living.

There's talk of at least a million people left homeless by the cyclone, in desperate need of food, water and medical care.
