There are only about 2,000 giant pandas left in the world and those in captivity show little desire to add to those numbers and reproduce.

So scientists in panda reserves are using a novel tactic: they play their pandas films of other pandas mating, in the hope that the idea catches on.

The BBC's James Reynolds went to the Chengdu Panda Reserve in Southern China to investigate.
