Chinese New Year
is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. It is celebrated with dragon and lantern processions and family get-togethers. It takes place in late January or early February, depending on the cycles of the moon. Each year is named after a particular animal. There are twelve in all - 2001 is the Year of the Snake and people born in this year are believed to be thoughtful and determined.
