Thanks for all the books recomended! I'm gonna add one more to this big list: "Eleven minutes", by Paulo Coelho. It's about one prostitute's life so it's very interesting to understand that kind of life. Above all, it's a love story. Beautiful!

I've read a lot of book written in English. My favourites are books by Michael Crichton. His novel is always written in plain English, not complicated grammar. The story is also very modern so that I feel like watching a movie when reading his book. I think such style of novel is very easy to catch up with the story.

I really do like reading english books in their original langage. The first I read was "Jane Eyre" from Charlotte Bronte and it was quite difficult. But at the end, I had improved my English greatly. Perhaps not my vocabulary, because I quikly stopped looking for words in the dictionnary, but I learnt a way of thinking a language and capturing its music.
Anne Courtet

I read several English books, all of them non-fiction ones. 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' by Dale Carnegie is one of favorite books, which tells us how improve our relation with people. 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill is no ordinary book which I love very much, and that inspires us to succeed in life. Besides, I've read some books on health. The books 'Fit for Life' by Harvey Diamond give me useful information on how to keep good health.

The two lastest books that I have read in English have been "The teacher" by Frank McCourt, and "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton. Both of them are entertained and with great literary quality. I recommend the first one for those who are interesting in being teachers(this book can do that you change your idea or to encourage much more in your attempt). The second one is about environmental issue and global warning.

I've always read novels because I love reading but this is the first time I've spent the whole year reading english books and I'm really proud of it. I had already read some Paul Auster's novels, translated into spanish, but once I was able to enjoy them in their original language, I couldn´t give up doing it. So I´d recommend you any of Auster's books.

My favorite book is "Memories of a Geisha" written by Arthur Golden. It's very special experience to read a book which language is Englsh as the subject is Asian culture-especially Japanese. When I read the book I felt it was really exotic though I knew well about Japanese culture because my grandmother is a japanese. I could see their culture through the Western man's view so that I could experience diverse aspects of the tradition of Japanese geishas.

Hello everyone,I'd like to recommend you the Harry Potter books in English. I think many of you read it in your mother language. By the first time I've read these books of course in Hungarian and I really enjoyed them. After a while I decided to read them in English. It was very funny to read such a huge book in English (but it's a very nice and interesting book so it wasn't a hard job) and it helped me a lot to learn new words (and not just the words of the field of witchcraft and wisardry :) ). But if you choose other books that are great also, just read as much as you can. :)bye, Zsófi

My favourite book in English is "A Tale of Two cities" by Charles Dickens. Actually, I´m a big fan of his books, and this one starts with the excinting phrase 'It was the best of the times, it was the worst of the times...' So, in the begining of the book you can see that the story is really gripping, and it will be very hard to put it down. I also enjoy reading Jane Austen books, such as Persuasion and Emma. Recentenly I´m reading Everything is Iluminated by Jonathan S. Foer, which I´ve seen first the film based on this novel and I really liked it. And besides that, I can say that the book is much better than the film. Indeed, I´m having a great time reading this book. Best wishes, Ana Paula.

I love reading book and I read lot of books in English too. For me reading is the best way to help improve my English.I thought I learn a lot too from reading. My favorite book is " The Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien It's complusive reading I mean it's difficult to stop once you have started it. Anyway I recommand " The Hobbit" it's not very serious and it's more easy to read.I think reading is the door that open to the world beyond reality.
