This photograph was taken in “Ensanche de Vallecas” (Madrid),on 11th February 2012.It represents the green in the modern architecture.
Inside, there are 123 state-subsidized apartments. This building is considered a jewel of architecture by expert architects. And it has been included in the program of ARCHITECTURE WEEK OF MADRID. Its structure and its innovative aesthetic have made it famous.
Firstly, we have the façade, made of plastic policarbonate ,in different shades of green, which vary as they get the sunlight. You can see different shades of green on the building depending on the time of day.
The architects have copied the inner part from those Spanish houses which date back to the 18th century (corralas in Spanish: interior patios where neighbours used to chat and socialize). And of course it is an ecological building (green building). It has a solar panel energy system.
