In April, we featured the following programmes:

Elle Macpherson
She started modelling at 17 and was given the nick name 'The Body'. She became one of the famous supermodels of the 1980s and 1990s, and is now an extremely successful business woman. Elle talks to us about the term 'supermodel' and how one of her business ventures used fashion as entertainment.

Amazing Grace
The film 'Amazing Grace' is about William Wilberforce's parliamentary campaign for the abolition of slavery. We hear a critic's view of the film's politics, and learn some words relating to ways of seeing the world.

Education in Theatre
When we think of the theatre, most of us think about good entertainment. But can going to the theatre also be an educational experience? Actress Pauline Moran shares her own opinions as she talks about her role as 'Jennifer' in a South African play called "Bones".

Kurt Vonnegut
In this edition, we learn about one of the outstanding writers of modern American literature, Kurt Vonnegut, who died on 11 April, aged 84. We find out why his work is so admired - especially his best-known novel, WSlaughterhouse Five", which combines time travel fantasy with Vonnegut's own experiences in the German city of Dresden during the Second World War.
