Al Gore was very nearly the president of the United States. After being Vice President to Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001 he was defeated by George Bush in a controversial election.
Now Al Gore is travelling the world promoting environmental issues and features in a new film, "An Inconvenient Truth" which follows him as he delivers his lectures on the dangers of global warming and climate change.
In this ediiton of Weekender we hear Al Gore describe what he hopes to achieve and how he balances his concern for the environment with flying around the world and therefore adding to the pollution he is trying to reduce.
