I
got my people moving and we left. We went on down and then came across
the first set of bodies. The women that wed been told would
be escorted back had been killed on the spot. They were
executed. There wasnt any rescue attempt, I mean we ran into
the Ugandan soldiers heading up from the south west at around quarter
to five that evening but we were already on our way back down nobody,
nobody rescued
us. |

WORDS

escorted back:
to escort someone back means you make sure they reach their destination
on the spot: if
something happens 'on the spot', it happens immediately
we ran into: to
'run into' means to meet someone unexpectedly

Yesterday
we took care of eleven people who evaded capture, or hid,
or escaped, and they were shocked naturally, but were not
physically harmed except for some bruises. And the six that were
released weve taken care of today, and medical checks show
that, while theyre understandably traumatised, theyre
not physically hurt. Were taking care of them to ensure that
the circumstances here are as gentle as possible.

| WORDS |
|
evaded: if you
evade something, you avoid it
naturally: something
that is not surprising
traumatised: if
someone is traumatised by an event or situation it is extremely
upsetting and causes great stress and may cause long term psychological
damage
