Formerly, in our feudal country, there was seperated school for girls in primary and secondary school. People thought that it was good for leading the girl pupils to their femal sex. That meant they did not need to lean much, and they had to lean more about the way to be a good wife and a good mother. In Italy I think that best results are being achived by girls, but it is just a question of "joung age". I think that girls in general have always been told to be brave and resposnsable, and they just do what they are told. I thain that male pupils are more allowd to be free and think, and behave like just they feel to. So she tries to provide herself with means of subsistence. There should be more men-teachers in the education system. But I think, it is a responsibility problem. Hi there, your british boys and girls are comparatively lucky enough to read for leasure. Ours rarely do. Our boys have always been considered that they naturally have more potential to learn better than girls have if they really want to or they are forced to. Currently, the number of best gradutes who want to be teachers is nearly none which shows the dark destination of our boys and girls that they can end up with. First, making teaching a more respectful job is a way to get our boys and girls better educated, then, take more care about whom has been out-performed. Since we are coming this far, I would like to suggest a few more steps as following that might be taken to equal their learning performance: 1> No exams until university entrance, teachers should evaluate their students by their daily behaviour. 2> Our society should offer more female employment which matters. 3> Wait and see in next 12 years(6 primary; 3 middle; 3 high). 4> If it is not working, heigher the university entrance level of boys. 5> Wait and see in next 12 years if you are still alive or this thing still bothers you. 6>By now, you should know what to do. Hello, when comparing boys and girls in our coutry it's obvious, that female are much more successful than male, at least as far as education is concerned.As I've been a student for last 13 years:-)), I've had many oportunities to experience this and I have to say, that it definitely is true. In my view, the problem is that boys are less goalseeking than girls and that they usually are not able to force themselves to learn. I must admit, that what we learn at school sometimes seems to be completely useless and that I understand those, who try to avoid learning it, but the higher education one gets, the better position he or she can reach (that's what I always say to myself, when I'm depressed:-)) And solution??I would say that if the classes were more practical, even boys could enjoy it. Learning what you doubt is useful and worth learning is very hard, but the time you see it really could be applied even somewhere else except while being examined, your approach to it will probably change.

Well, I just read some pieces of comments about the problem of co-eductaion system from voices in different countries. I find , many countries ,especially the Middle-eastern countries such as Pakistan, India, exist a serious sex discrimination . As a female, I fell very fortunate due to the positive attitude towards the female's social status today. Nowadays China gives an equale oppotunity to both genders. Girls& boys accept same education at the each stage of education process. If a girl can graduate with bachelor degree and meawhile her major is required by the market, it's likely that she can get a good job and earn a high paying. Independence would let her get a high social status easily. Whereas China's boy couldn't get a high social status if poor educated. Generally, today's China focuses on the professional level more than the gender. Everybody should have and cultivate his or her special ability or professional knowledge. I can say that the difference doesn't exist only between genders but also between the individuals. According to the experience I've made during my school education I can say that on average girls get better marks than boys. In my opinion this is due to the differences between girls and boys. Particularly in their teens boys tend to pay less attention to the school lessons and to their duties. It's difficult for them to concentrate for too long unless they find something very interesting. Boys tend to spend more time playing sports or computer games. At this age they develope their competitive skills but unlike the girls it's not the school where they do their best. Later in the universities things change and boys are motivated to learn hard as well. To sum up I think that age-related changes are responsible for the worse school performance of boys compared to girls. What is more it's proved that boys mature slower than girls. School teacher should take these differences into account and try to attract boys attention in order to make them work harder.

In my homeland, nowadays there are the same facilities for education for boys as for girls in single-sex schools. But girls are more successful especially in entrance exam of universities. Since 2 years ago girls has been admitted more than boys. This year 60% of admitted students were female and 40% were male. I think the origin of this fact lies in society, which in term arises from unemployment problem boys usually prefer to work rather than to continue their education. They say there is no use in education when you can find even a better-paid job without it, for instance in our company a driver is paid more than an engineer. But girls are highly motivated students, because they find it as a way to get a better situation in society. Unfortunately our government policy to solve this problem is limiting the number of girls in universities by enforcing certain terms and conditions regarding the sex of applicants, instead of encouraging the boys to try more. Austria Boys have big problems at schools because they need a different way to learn. Education nowadays is done in a way which suits to girls very good but it meets not the need for boys. I personally have a boy with a IQ of 125 and he has big difficulty at school, because he has a dyslexia (many boys have this, much more than girls) and there is no programm do deal with that. We have to find a new way to "integrate" boys in our classroom. We forget them the last twenty years. Boys are frustrated at schools, it is boring for them, the need other treatments.
