Facebook is a great channel to keep in touch and updated with friends, family and even colleagues we usually don't meet face to face. I have found friends from high school, trips, exchange studies and others adventures. It's awesome to find out you have a lot in common with some of them, even with that person you wouldn't imagine to get along well....
It's important though NOT expose your life (from pictures) and your personnel information. Remember that friends from your friends can have access to your profile (unless you have blocked this option).

Hmm! I use Facebook I love keeping in touch with my friends. I use facebook it's really enjoyable to look my friends' photos and their life. Because they share whatever they want. Sometimes I can find very interesting photos. I can send messages with facebook it's cheaper than SMS. I think Facebook is the most popular social network in Turkey. Also there is an another social network which is Twitter. But I don't have any idea about Twitter because I don't have a Twitter account :)

The pity is that employers can use it to have their opinion. It's an ambiguous source, and after all, even a jobseeker has the right not to have his/her profile on a "social" network.
Having said that, maybe it is addictive... or maybe it will be flogged to death.

Nowadays, social networking sites are very popular in our life, especially facebook. Although, facebook can bring enormous benefit, there are several negative aspects which should be considered. I will discuss pros and cons of using facebook
The first and most crucial merit is that facebook make many people closer. By this I mean, numerous people use facebook in order to keep in touch with their friends who can not often meet face to face. Moreover, through facebook, they can look their friend's photo and share feelings about them. Therefore, they understand more and update huge amount of information about their friends.
Another significant positive aspect that needs to be taken into account is that it is easy to use. In reality, facebook attracks a large amount of people utilize it, especially young people and even elderly people.
Howerver, besides these advanges, facebook has a negative impact on many people. They are addicted very badly to social networking sites. As a matter of fact, they are time-consuming to utilize it or play games on facebook. As a result, they do not concentrate on studying and have a bad study performance.
There is a saying that everything comes at a price, facebook is not a exception. Howerver, it is obvious that the benefits outweigh drawbacks. It is advised that people are encouraged to use facebook so as to contact with other people.

Hi,
certainly I use such social networking sites as facebook or vkontakte. But only in order to keep in touch with my close friends, who lives (unfortunatelly for me) in other country...so I have no possibility to see them often.
To say truth I spend a lot of time to communicate with my parents per skype.(We can to drink tee together or thanks skype I have seen that my little brother have made his first steps himself). I am very happy that I can see and hear them besides large distance between us.

I use social networking sites very rarely because it leads to waste of time and addiction.I will tell u why...there are social networking sites like facebook which does not provide any knowledge oriented things but instead of that it provides useless applications,day to day competition to show off your greatness through photos or through any impressive comment.I am not saying that the facebook is bad but it does not provide quality stuff.On the other hand twitter has many useful tools.i.e. u can get day to day news,u can follow great people, u can have thought sharing.Most important and useful thing is that that the twitter has mobile tweet option which helps us to keep in touch with tweets at any given time.

I don't like facebook or other social networks at all. But as soon as my 13 year-old daughter registered a few months ago, I decided to do the same, for the only reason to watch her. I could never understand what people of my age find interesting in using facebook. If I have to communicate with someone, I' rather call, not even send an SMS. I prefer the straight and fast way of communication. That's why I don't use facebook. I also disagree with the publishing of personal photos. I consinder it as invation to private life. And I never like watching other people's photos. Now that I have my own account, I registered sometimes at the begining to see my daughte' s profile. It was amazing how fast the number of her friends was increasing. It was like a competition to her, to have more and more friends. Now, I've given up. As a mother, I see it as a serious danger for the children to communicate each other and make themselves believe that they meet new friends. Facebook is absolutely the wrong way to make friendships, and that's a reason the majority of children use it. Moreover, all my three kids are addicted to games that exist at facebook. Some much time waste, especially for the students. Before my kid's registration I thought of facebook as useless, now I think it's dangerous.

I only use the Facebook because I have family and friends in another city or country and the conversation and contact are easy with them.
But I think that the people should have control with " the social networking" because is better talking with the people face to face. Well, I mostly use facebook, I don't use twitter because even I don't understand the purpose of the social network, not even I have an account there. When did the facebook didn't interest me because before this network was the hi5 and most people were in this network, but the downside of this network esq appeared that people visiting your profile, also appeared the number of visits you had.
Then I became interested in the facebook because you could comment on photos of your friends and contact you with people that maybe you didn't see for some time but then completely change their image because the facechat appeared where you could talk to your friends much more easily, and this network offers social games and the chance to join other pages or rather subscribe to them.
This social network has its advantages and disadvantages of self which must take precautions, for example putting the privacy of your photos making sure that anyone seeing them or use them for other purposes that affects the integrity of the person.
That's all, when you decide to create an account on any social network either facebook or tiwwitter great care must be.... (:

I think facebook is a good option when you want to stay in contact with friends but there are people who use facebook to see their profile pictures and all of that and i think that is a real waste of time i mean these people cannot resist a day without checking facebook literally and i say this because is my case. My mom is complaining about my behavior towards the number of hours I waste in facebook. So my advice is to visit facebook but doing it regularly.

I also use Facebook everyday. I use this for keeping in touch with my friends who are in abroad. We are able to talk and check what is going around people. If we don't have a social network site, it's difficult to contact with friends frequently. Of course , it has also negative side that it doesn't really have privite life. Now a days Social networking is very important for everyone.
why is the reason? the best reason for this technology is comunication, that caused the globalization and all the world in all the time is apart of chatting, studing or playing is similar to bookcase because you can find a lot of information for example planets, best events "woodstock",recipes, wheater in differents parts of the world and also you can buy for internet.

I think that the social networking sites have a lot of advantages and disadvantages. We should know about the rules of privacy before that we start to use a social networking sites, because often we published parts of our lives on these social networks.
I think it's important to be updated with these social networking sites, but also consider that these should adapt these sites to our life. For example, many people published about their work and offer their services on these social networks, people exchange information as well as classes, research projects, and stuff like that.
A disadvantage about these sites is when we consider the risk for child safety. Citizens and governments have been concerned by a misuse by child and teenagers of social networking services, in particular in relation to online sexual predators.
We should take care of our information and try to get the biggest advantages of these web sites for our life and professional success. Too we should care the use of these sites by children, because often they do not know the wickedness of people.

the social networking are extremely good to being in touch. In ancient times, a letter have been great and also would have given a special sense of romanticism, but nowadays we have the opportunity to take advantage of the progress in tecnology, but it's supposed to be in a good way. If we say that a social networking can avoid many lifes lost, it's totally true. For example, in environmental disaster, or in a earthquake, the people can send information about the state in a city to another one, and that may be the solution to people who doesn't know anything yet and can be in trouble. They can look in the net and take quickly decisions. That is a good way. But in the other hand, the teenagers, only say, waste time, even huge quiantities of hours the this social networking, publishing non sense things that doesn't help to develop their mental potencial. For example, them can read a book and publish some kind of event that another teenager could start a discussion about it, and give their thoughts. That's the only way.

I have accounts of Facebook, twitter and mixi. However I use only mixi, because It's very easy for me to send my information and see some information about my friends. I also started using FB for the sake of fun but gradually i became addictive of it. In my country, Facebook is the most popular site for the youth who are above 10 years old. It brings many opportunities for us to keep in touch with friend, expand our network and feel more confident about ourselves.
In contract, personally, I think Facebook, MySpace, Twitter or other social network sites, are quite harmful for both our characteristics and communication skill. For example, many of us could not accept the fact in real life because they waste too much time on search, read, comment and chat with "vitual friend" instead of experiencing outside. As a result, they could not adapt to the requirements of labour market.
As a lecturer and a woman, I have a fear of the drawbacks of social networking sites when having the children. I could not imagine how I could teach my babies.

Few days ago i deleted my facebook account cause it took too much my precious time and disracted my attention to learning which was so bad. There's nothing to do there really.. i saw no point in sitting there but i did it anyway.. it was some kind of addiction but not serious cause i dealed with it fortunately. I usually use Tuenti to talk to my friends or see some photos but not very much. I don't undertand that people who spend a lot of time on it ( 3 hours). I like it but not so much time. I don't have any other social network like Facebook or Twiter because i think that I only need one.
In my opinion, there are a lot of people that don't have social network and his friends are marginalizing them because of this, and I don't like it.
Maybe they prefer to go out instead of been on the computer.

I think nowadays people love use social networking. They lose many time in this activities like Tuenti, Twitter and Facebook.
I guess young people should be fewer time in social networking because they don't profit the time.
I use Tuenti and Twitter to speak with my friends and this is enough for me.

i have been used faceboook since 4 years still i enjoy,Facebook has connect me to many friends those i dont meet very often,i manage a group of student those have been taught by me moreover i am the part of many group in facebook.

I don't really like social network sites but i still log in to facebook sometimes. It helps me to find some old friend or just relax after busy work by music and funny videos.
