A smile from Czech Republic :-)
Hi Simon and everyone all over the world !! Hi my friends !!
Time goes by so fast,It's the first of October, the day I am starting something special!!!I yeah ,being a blogger on BBC.It's the first time of mine posting a blog here so I am really really nervous right now especially when Ana and all the other bloggers before me did a great job.How interesting they have talked about !!
First of all I would like to thank to Dima and all the BBC stuff to give me this amazing opportunity to share my feelings and opinions about this world by talking about my daily activities.I have never dreamed of this day when I heard about BBC website of learning English from a friend of mine and then I decided to send a message to the stuff of BBC a few months ago.It attracted me from the first time exploring this website.
Well, let me tell you something about myself :-)
My name is Linda,I have another name It's Linh. They call me both and I am happy with using both of those names.Maybe someone would say It's pretty weird when anyone here has two names at once.Well,I am actually Vietnamese living in Czech Republic. That nice and small country next to Germany.Czech is known with the name Czechoslovakia in the past but the official name of this country is just only Czech Republic.I'll tell you in detail later :-)
19 years ago I was born in Hanoi, that beautiful city of Vietnam.Time flies It was 8 years when I moved to Czech, the sweet memories of Vietnam are still clear in my heart.I love both countries.
I live in Pilsen with parents and a younger brother. We are a happy family,my parents have to work hard to give us the best life,me and my brother appreciate it a lot of them.So for that I chose medicine to study. My mum and dad have never told me to choose this profession but I know they want me to be a doctor.Though I have a lot of years to "fight" ,I'll try my best to take the happiness for my family and the others who needs my help in the future.
I am finishing this introduction of mine It was a little bit about me and my life.I hope all of you enjoy my next posting. Thanks a lot for your time reading my first entry.
At the end I have something to tell those who is reading my blog and want to be a new blogger of BBC don't hesitate to write to BBC ,one day you can do something like what I am doing right now.Good luck to all of you !!
P/s:I think I should post a picture of mine, just to get you an idea how I look like
.The photo has been taken a few minutes ago :D

Find out the secret message in my reply !!!
Hi my friends,
How are you? How was your day?
I hope all of you are doing well.
Do you know what I did when I came back home from school? TURN ON the computer and log in the blog.Wow,what a surprise I see there !!! I got a lot of comments, that’s something I didn’t expect to.To read my entry all of you must be really patient ,you know.So thank you very very much for your nice comments. From my heard I want to say I appreciate it a lot of you all!!!Once again thanks for your kind words, for your supports and your love of Czech and also Vietnam.
I will feel so sorry If I talk about something here that doesn’t make you feel interested. So for that I wouldn’t want to write about anything special on this entry because I am depressed right now.I wouldn’t be concentrate on telling you more about the life here in this beautiful country on this entry.I am taking an exam tomorrow ,which is pretty important to me.Tomorrow will be a long day for me I am really looking forward to having a rest.People feel the true meaning of relaxing when they worked really hard.
Anyway let me tell you a little bit about me by replying to your nice comments.
Ciao Antonio:Oops, you make me blessing !!! When I was in Vietnam I really like writing essays and so on.Vietnamese language was one of my favourite subjects at school. But after coming to Czech I was interested in Maths instead of the language. That’s reasonable when my Czech wasn’t good but a few years later though It was pretty good I felt losing my ability of writing anything though It’s just a short essay.
Well,I’ve given you an example how the person can make a change after coming to a foreign place .:P.It was only about the subjects at school but I wonder there is any place to makes the people change their laziness of doing housework !!!! Do anyone of you know where It is?I am planning to send my bother there. He’s really really un-useful at anything concerning doing housework !!!( Just joking but I think apart from me there is someone else who wants to find that magic place. Maybe something like that can be existed but It takes a lot of time to find out.
So gentlemen,I have a message to you by making that suggestion of looking for that place to change your opinions of doing house work, just help your wife, your sister with doing housework.Instead of wasting their time on finding that place, they’ll spend more time on taking care of you !!!:P
Hi Ernesto:Hmm,for the distance of 2 countries Czech and Chile bravo what you know about Czech.Anyway your question was interesting .Well,I want to do this for my parents first but as you know the study is pretty long so I wouldn’t continue on without my interest on medicine. I think to be a doctor means pretty much for your family when one of them is ill. In this case they won’t worry that much.
Hi Ana Paula –Thank you :-)
-Hola Merce, that’s nice when you had a happy time during your stay at Prague. I’ll try my best to show you more about the other places of Czech though It will be more and more interesting to see it directly.
VinhAnh-yes,first you can see nonsense typing anything like that but I think this site is really interesting when you want to know the real life of people in their country. That’s something you wouldn’t find out when you stay there for a short time.
Hi Ewa,yes I love both countries .Vietnam is also a nice place to visit,It’s really different from what we see here in Europe.
Ahoj Hana, you surprised me pretty much too because I just think Czech people don’t know this site. That’s a pity when BBC doesn’t have Czech page.
Hi Amy,that’s for sure I would love to show you some faculties of medicine in Czech.
Hey René,I go to Germany frequently. What I can say about your country I also love it,the country as well as the people.
Oh,time flies!!!Though I would love to reply all comments of yours but I have got to do something now.So once again sorry for that.I’ll continue next time.Anyway please comment me because that’s really really interesting to know your opinions :-)
Take care and have a nice time.

The Czech Republic
It's almost midnight here. The last day of a busy week is off ,weekend is coming soon in a few minutes.I am looking forward to having some time to relax during the weekend.I hope all of you enjoy your weekend and as promised I am preparing the entry about Czech Republic for you.
First of all I would like to show you where Czech Republic is :-).By reading your comments I am sure a lot of you have been to Czech or know pretty much about this country but just have a look where it exactly lies on the world map :-)
Vítejte v České Republice !Welcome to the Czech Republic !Wilkommen in der Tchechischen republik !!
Well,I've written those greetings in English,Czech and in German
.The same you can see when you come here.Apart from Czech -as a official language, the other ones which are the most spoken here are English and German.
No doubt about the reason of using English,It should be the same like in other countries but for example when you are in Germany to visit some historical museums, you can see there will be German in the first place as the official language of that country,on the second place is French. The same for England. But in Czech you will see those successions of using languages a little bit different.German is more popular than French :-)
Sprechen Sie deutch?JA.^^ Parlez-vous francais? NON (ou just un peu ^.^)
The reason of using German relates to the history of two countries. Not that interesting to explorer more :-)Though people from another continents think Czech is situated in West Europe
the more accurate phrase should be Central Europe
.It is an inland country with an area of 78,864 km2 that lies in the heart of Europe.Czech isa small country with about 10.3 millions habitants.
*traditional Slavonic colours - white and red,*blue - a reference to the field of the Moravian coat of arms
National coat of arms
The large coat of arms contains the emblems of the historical lands of the Czech Crown - a traditional heraldic rampant lion (Bohemia), a checquered eagle (Moravia) and the Silesian eagle-FULL OF POWER :D :D
I'll continue next time :-)
Well,I didn't know the result of my exam yet but maybe a lot of you kept your fingers crossed so I have good feelings from that.I think all of you know exactly how the student's life is.One has done the other one is coming ^^.
I am exhausted now like every Friday. What I am saying now sounds pretty laughably but after school I work as a tutor teacher of computer ^^!!!!.
Though I always have to ask my brother or sometimes my friends have to come to our home to help me fix my computer I teach a little girl about using some similar things on the PC like turn on /off ,how to write something on MS Word,do some graphs using MS Exel and so on.
Then I teach another one Czech language. She's a younger sister of my Vietnamese closed friend so I didn't want to refuse when he asked me me to teach his sister Czech language.I'll tell you in detail in another entry how hard It is to start with something you have never heard about.
She is 10 years old .A lovely girl :-)
P/S:I fell so sorry but I'll reply all of your comments next time because It's really late here.
Good night and enjoy your weekend !!!
bye for now

A new international language is growing in Czech nature !!
Hello all !Hello Simon !!!
Simon,I hope you don’t mind if I answer your questions in the second part of this entry.
I would like to continue the article about Czech that I couldn’t finish last night just to make those entries a little bit coherent whole.I hope at least what I am writing here will help someone to know about this country more.Who knows what will happen.Maybe here is someone who has decided to travel to Czech to explorer it more by reading my entries :P
Czech has three oldest parts , they are Bohemia with its biggest cities Prague and Pilsen , Moravia is known to have Brno as its capital city and Silesia (Slezsko) has Ostrava, the city of mining work in the past.
The surface here is rather hilly,I used to ride a bike in Vietnam but I am pretty lazy to ride a bike here because of its surface. Up the hill is something like to climb the mountain for me !!Sometimes It is really funny when you are riding down the hill and see how the other one has to manage to go over that hill ,most of them usually couldn’t help though they tried their best ;)) so then the best way how to resolve that problem is get off the bike and walk until they meet their counterpart who also is trying to “climb the mountain” like what they have done because another one is coming !!!
So probably because of that reason people living here don’t use bikes as their transport. The second reason of not using bikes is because of the count of habitants. With 10,3 mil. habitant there are always enough seats in the bus or in underground.
Here are some photos of Czech nature that can offer tourist much that is of interest. Sandy rocks Český ráj-that is known as Bohemian parade celebrated with sandstone rock towns or stalactite caves in Moravský Kras ,also two glacial lakes can be found here-Černé and Čertovo,Šumava range with its original virgin forest, many old trees and bushes. The highest mountain -the Giant Mountains (or also Kokonoše in Czech) ,Beskydy,Hrubý Jeseník mountain ranges…
Amazing nature is waiting for you to explore it more !!!!
There are some websites that can be useful for someone who is interested in Czech Republic.
The official website of CR-
http://www.czech.cz/ (I’ve checked this site but unfortunately it is broken right now but be sure they are repairing it as soon as possible)
The Czech Red Cross-
The Krkonoše Mts. National Park -
Bohemian parade -
Simon,It’s really nice to hear from you.
Thanks for the pictures of your holiday as well as the information about Turkey. How that country is beautiful !!!! It’s a magic combination at once with the mountains and also the sea. Czech is an inland country so Turkey is one of the most favourite places for Czech people to spend their holiday
.I’ve never been there but It’s always interesting to have some time to travel with family.
Autumn is the best time to travel, there are less visitors than in the summer . Anyway was the weather good during your stay in Turkey? Last week we had rainy days in Czech .I wonder why Pilsen has played an important role in your life????I guess you are originally from Turkey right? Forgive me if my guess was wrong , I have read some of your entries you posted before you mentioned about Istanbul
Yes,to live in a foreign country gives us an opportunity to know more about the culture and the language of that country.I am actually fluent only in Vietnamese and in Czech. Shame on me what I am telling you but English is an obligatory subject at Vietnamese as well as Czech school
so I started learning English from the fourth grade .
At elemental school I had German as my third language but then at high school I had a wonderful French teacher that put her love of French on us so for that I decided to take up with French and stop learning German.I right now remember only some basic phrases in German .
I don’t have any reason to regret for the decision of mine to explore something new with French I love French culture and their cuisine
but It must be more interesting to know German better when I travel frequently to Germany. Right now we have Latin that’s something I have never tried to talk to anyone outside the school
So theoretically I should be able to speak Czech ,Vietnamese,English and French but I am not good at any of those languages .Any unsuccessful thing has its reason so I would like to discuss this problem later.
If Simon or anyone of you wonder I use something similar to BECHILAMA
to talk to my Vietnamese friends living here. It’s a mixture of Vietnamese , Czech, English and sometimes there are some French or German words but unfortunately with Czech pronunciation. As a successful progress we have created our own language here that seems pretty international =))
Well, maybe Simon and also most of people who have read my previous entries think I am proud of Czech more than my mother land but the reason of not mentioned yet about my beautiful country Vietnam is because of all who read my entries here
.Before I started blogging here I had looked at most of entries bloggers posted before .There are two Vietnamese girls that have already talked about Vietnam
so I think my entries will be more helpful for people when I tell you more about Czech first.
What Simon wants me to write about some experiences of learning languages is also on my plan but I don’t want to tell you much in advance Just want to make all of you surprise :P So I hope someone here will back me up and anyway fell free to tell me whatever you are interested in both countries.
I am sorry for that lately reply of mine.As you know I am one of those people who suffer from a lack of free time so I hope all of you won’t be angry at me :D
From my first entry ^^!
,wow you both must be proud of your son. He’s clever to be successful at the exam when It is only once a year. The system of medicine education in Czech is different from France
. I’ll tell you more in detail in my next entry. Anyway I admire what you are doing at your age. You said your son is studying medicine so you must be at the age of my mother so it’s amazing you still want to improve your English.
Hi Elliot Willians
,thanks for your time reading my entry.I won’t make you disappoint just be surprise :P
,wow I am also pretty shy like you you know.I was so nervous at the first time when I write here. But as you know to be fluent in any language need to practice it.So I hope to see your comment again .There is no reason to be shy talking in English.
,I think we both have similar feelings of living in a foreign country.I have a friend from Peru here in Pilsen. She is so cheerful and friendly, she has the typical personalities of latin people.
,I am looking forward to hearing from you.Tell us about that day in your country ok.Festivals are the best way to attract the people.I once was in a jazz festival,I don’t like jazz at all but what they showed me there about jazz changed my opinion.
,Thanks for your compliment. It’s always interesting to hear your opinion in whatever I write here.
the most interesting question I have ever read here !I’ll anwer it in my another entry. That’s really cool what you have asked.Anyway Czech is not so far From Germany so when you have some free time just go here I have a lot to show you !
,well Anna has already done a wonderful work here !! I have read her entries the way she writes is so lively that I couldnt describe by texting.
,I should try my best in my studying to be admired by you (just joking).Pilsen candidate to be the cultural city of Europe in 2015 so right now It’s pretty nice to be in a lot of festivals taking place here.
It’s also a pleasure of me to meet you.Where do you live exactly in Germany?I have friends living there they are always kind to me.
,I hope my entries can help you know about czech and vietnam more
,oops ^^ who I am in the real life is totally contrary from what you think about me :D I am still a big child that has no experience of anything :P
I hope my next entries can make you change your opinion on me :D
:D are they similar to each other :p Unfortunatelly I didn’t know any Portuguese so It was probably a wrong choice of my aunt to call me Linda first. What a luck that I don’t live in Brazil or Portugal ^^ I must be shy there all the time because of my name/
, I would like to show all of you a little bit more about VN as well as Cz.So enjoy my entries
,I returned there once when my grand mother was ill, from that time I haven’t come back there yet.I am going there next summer.
Hi Thanh Thuy
,thanks a lot for your nice comment .I have never met you in person but I am sure you are really cool girl that I would love to see when I come back to vietnam. You are my sister that gives me a lot of advices .Always nice to chat with you :P
,thanks so much for your support.I am glad I can be a blogger here.So hope to see your opinion on my entries :D:D
Good night everyone !

Hi everybody!Hi Simon!
How are you all? I feel really happy now because finally my computer is fixed. Guess, who repaired it ? My brother ! He is unuseful all the time but whenever we have some problems with anything according to computer ,he seems to be someone another ! He became a specialist at once .ok first of all I want to thank all of you sharing with me your problems .Yes,every issue has its time to be resolved.
Well ,I have come back from Prague .I have some lessons there every Saturday .At the end of that lesson the professor told us a joke !That’s a typical of him, some funny stories of his memories from the time he has been a student. That joke was about a simple English sentence ( feel this one a little bit weird when he was talking about medicine huh?Yes,he is strange, but his mention is good.At least his jokes make us laugh every time )Ok but any way here is that sentence :Mr. Green will not meet his classes today. My professor and all members of his class were so happy when someone from other class came and wrote this sentence on the board. That means they could go home. But then that guy came back and clear the letter c of the word classes .He said sorry to all because he found out Mr.Green will come in a few minutes later and because that guy was so lazy to clear all the sentence so he cleared only that letter.Mr.Green came,he was looking at the sentence ...He decided to clear the letter L.So now I think all of you can imagine how Czech professors can allow to talk to their students .
Now I want to continue telling you something about Prague .Prague is often considered as the city lying right in the very heart of Europe. Others prefer the expression hundred-towered Prague. It’s the city will full of historical monuments, castles…Not that big like the other capital cities like London ,Paris and so on but it’s an unique one .Prague became a Gothic metropolis of European significance during the government of the king and emperor Charles IV, who found the Charles university in 1348,the oldest and also the most famous one in Czech.
Here are those places that you can’t miss to visit.
Prague castle-founded from the 9th century, since 1918 It has been the seat of the President.
Charles Bridge-Karlův most
-found by Charles IV.There are a lot of barogue scuptures and sculptural groups on the bridge ,mostly from the 18th century.
Among the most frequently visited places in Prague is the Old Town Square
where a large number of monuments are situated, the most special thing is the horological clock
Wenceslas square-Vaclavske namesti-the longest in the country with 750 metres in length.
^^ I am sure there are many many places that make will you feel interested in but I am pretty lazy right now to continue this entry .I’ll tell you more next time.
Any way I want to introduce all of you a very interesting site for expats living in Prague
. It’s in English and most members of that sites are expats living here or those people who have been to Czech and so on .So you can get some advice from them. You can also get Survival Guide and Business Directory ,It’s a free 170 page guide with helpful advice and services
for every expat living in the Czech Republic

Vietnamese traditional dress-ÁO DŔI (the long dress)
Today is a special day for all Vietnamese women .It’s the 20th October. Vietnamese people tend to have the second day apart from those international days of celebrating .Like there are two children’s days in Vietnam, the first one is that international day of children, knows as the 1st June. As well as for women, apart from the 8th March there is also another day for women. It’s today-the 20th October(Vietnamese women's day). As a tradition, all female don’t have to do anything in this day, they can afford to do whatever they want .To beat their husband, boyfriend is also possible! They tend to get some presents and flowers from the other members of their family.
I want to tell you about the Vietnamese traditional dress called Ao Dai that is known as one of those mysterious things of Vietnam. This article was written by my friend Thanh Thuy, a cheerful girl with a sweet heart .Though I have never met her in person but I feel her very closely to me. Like my sister she always gives me a lot of advice. I want to thank her so much for the nice pictures and explanations of wearing Ao Dai.
Have you ever heard about Vietnamese traditional dress? It have been given a name which is so simple, unpretentious but elegant and luxurious – Ao Dai
Ao Dai can’t be translated to another language in the world as its special symbol that no country has Ao Dai like Viet Nam.
The Ao Dai is created like an art and fascination that never grows boring… It’s not only the inspiration for fashion but also for poetry, music, paintings and movies.
Ms. James Sterson, an American envoy said there wasn’t any country in the world that has a national costume which is beautiful, traditional and deep in cultural beauty such as Vietnam long dress.
The Ao Dai is not only a costume but also a glorious mark in the Vietnamese culture or a symbol of the national character and the Vietnamese spirit: “Under any circumstances, people develop human quintessence and get rid of bad things to further promote beauty and maintain independence “ The Ao Dai is proudly cosmetic symbol of the Vietnamese people
b) Some feature about traditional clothing of Vietnamese women .
In the long history of the country, the Vietnamese nation always had to fight against the invaders to be everlasting and protect traditional values on culture and family rules. Ao Dai is wonderful artistic work of the nation. Beside its elegance, the structure of Ao Dai also implies the teaching meaning of “ Proper behavior “ of our ancestors.
Ao Dai is also the result of the national character and Vietnamese spirits. Over one thousand years of domination by the Northern invanders, nearly hundred years of French colonialism, Ao Dai already communicated with 2 strong cultures of humans Eastern (China) and Western (France). Ao Dai has overcome every challenge to become the traditional clothes, a symbol of women, the pride of the Vietnamese nation. We should respect, protect and take a loving care of precious heritages of our ancestors and continue to develop good traditions of our ancestors.
Ao Dai – traditional clothing of Vietnamese women, which embreces the body, has high collar and knee-length panels. It is split in the hip, which is sexy and attractive, not scanty but still shows the line of the body of a young girl. “ Wherever there are Vietnamese Ao Dais”. It is not only the traditional costume but Ao Dai is also a cultural feature expressing the outlook on life and Vietnam spirits. In other words, it is the nation spirit of the Vietnamese women.
3) Ao Dai- a simple and elegant beauty in the daily life.
Unlike Japanese Kimonos, South Korean Hanboks or Sais, traditional costume of Indian women, people wearing Ao Dai don’t take much time for it but still look tidy, charming and elegant, therefore, Ao Dai has penetrated into the daily life of Vietnamese women naturally and easily.
Nothing looks more beautiful and peaceful than the image of every morning, each group of girls in write Ao Dai uniforms to enter the school gates very gracefully. On the long airway with the changes in the climate and weather, the image of young Vietnamese girls being charmed in their Ao Dai is the soul to ease the tiredness of the passengers in the flight. Nevertheless, nowadays, at the offices, it’s easy to see the image of being tidy in their Ao Dais but are active in solving working matters neatly and well. It’s true with an assessment of a south East Asian fashion expert: “Vietnamese Ao Dai creates the comfort for women and allows people wearing it to freely act and has more attraction “
Through ups and downs with many disguises, Ao Dai sometimes look so strange in its very big size(in the early 19th century), sometimes it has high collar and close-chest collar, sometimes has above knee-length panels, sometimes under ankle-length panels…..It is made of silk, raw silk, or tussore…… to sum up, an Ao Dai is always available in the wardrobe of young Vietnamese girls. Ao Dais and Vietnamese women, a gentle attachment as the silk cord but it’s quite tight and enduring. Young Vietnamese girls in their pure Ao Dais go to school and are stately in the uniforms in the eyes of foreign partners in the beauty contest.
When we add a brimmed craft around on the head like a crown with an overcoat, it will combine with each other to create a dress uniform “ queen” for the bride on the wedding day
When becoming a mother, taking daughters to get married and picking up daughter-in-law….velvet or silk Ao Dais makes mothers more luxurious and stately….
In parties, Vietnamese Ao Dai is always unique and splendid competed with foreign costume.
Therefore, Ao Dais are never back to date. Designer seem always to have aspirations to make Ao Dais more attractive. Whatever changes may have, Ao Dais still need to keep its natures. It is not scanty but the bending line in the body of young girls should be seen, which is quite simple and elegant.
Nowadays, Ao Dais appear every where in the world. Vietnamese oversea women show their love to the country through Ao Dais. A symbolic example is Miss Asia USA contest and Jennifer Pham who showed Vietnamese spirit and make so special impression when wearing Vietnamese traditional dress was winner
Many foreign visitors have good impression on Vietnamese Ao Dais, they feel being warmly welcome when the image of Ao Dais flowing in the wind in the airports. It’s pity for those who travel to Vietnam without bringing back an Ao Dai as a souvenir to show off with those who have never been to Vietnam. Ao Dai is deserved to be called “ the Vietnam charming feature”
c) Ao Dai is more and more famous in the world.
In June 2001, this is first time “ Ao Dai” has been introduced in tour city (France) with a large number of approximately 300 Vietnamese cultural lovers. Ao Dai is considered an intangible cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people, A Singapore girl, originally Chinese native said: “ many people tend to make beauty under the western style, however, as for me and some want to inherit East Asian beauty. Ao Dai help us come back to Asian values”. In Asia bloc in particular and in western bloc in generally, much attention has been paid to “ Ao Dai”
Take Susan, a British woman living in Australia for example. She worked in Vietnam and had three set of “ Ao Dai” to wear on great carnival. When she has returned her homeland, she wraps them up neatly and only wears them on special carnival. Asa means of introducing the country and the Vietnamese people, KBS- a famous south Korean television station – has ever made a 30 minutes film on Vietnamese Ao Dai broadcast in this country.
In the last few years, Ao Dai have been renovated in harmony with the national cultural characters and modern fashion styles, creating an unique beauty for the national Dress at weekly international fashion shows, Miss contests
in the nation and the world and other great festival.

Hi everyone,hi Simon !
First of all I want to say sorry to all of you,to Simon-my English teacher on BBC.....to a lot of people that always look forward to seeing my posting here on BBC blog....
I feel so sorry right now, just don’t know what to say to apologize for not posting new entries those days…I actually posted the entry about Vietnamese traditional dress called Ao dai a few days ago but I don’t know why that entry is still in processing .So I just think I should wait until that one is published !So sorry for that….
What about Simon’s idea of doing some presentations I must say It’s a great idea. We tend to have some presentations at our English class too but It ‘s always prepared by our teacher ^^!.By Simon’s idea I have done a very interesting presentation about computer components . It’s for that little girl I have told about in my previous entry .I hope she will enjoy it.It’s always more interesting and effected to try a new way of studying .That’s why we really enjoy those lessons of younger professors. Though they don’t have a lot of experiences in teaching like our older professors but they always make us put new ideas into actions.
Now let me explain something to you about those pictures I have posted in my previous entry!they were those ones I had to find on the Internet. As you know my computer was broken so we had to install the system so I don’t have anything right now on my computer. By the way I think It’s can be good :P At least It makes you feel more and more curious to decide to visit Prague ;))
Yesterday I talked to my friends about the differences of lifestyle in Europe and in Vietnam ^^!Guess, what I told them ! I said Vietnamese people worked too much. It’s normal when someone from Vietnam tell you they work during the weekend or they have to go to school on Saturday .I also did the same when I was there ,my school started from Monday until Saturday. Sunday is the only day when I could have a rest but like a trend of studying pupils in Vietnam go to school also on the last day of a week –SUNDAY!!!! It was something very special to see me at home because I used to have some courses in the evenings. Not some language courses but some lessons of Math , Vietnamese literature , Physical science or Chemistry :( Can you imagine how horrible It was to had to take something like that in the evenings when you were totally exhausted after being all day at school ?
What about here ?The way I spend my time after studying :)) well ,It is said that students should study hard but they also should enjoy the student’s life !!! How funny It is ;)).I am glad that apart from those places Simon had a good memory of beer during his stay in Prague :P Czech drink pretty much,It’s in their gens I think ! We tend to go to the pub after school just to have some glasses of beer !(I am telling you about the life in Pilsen :P)You can see here bars every corner of the city
.I can’t drink that much like Czech( I see a big problem with increase of population just after 2 glasses.=))I hope you can get me now) but whenever I have time It’s always nice to go with friends. The chance to be drunk is the same for them .It doesn’t depend on whether they are girls or boys :)):D :D
I’ll continue talking about partying next time :P
Have a nice time :D:D

Education in the Czech Republic - Kinder-garden--->secondary school
Education in the Czech Republic
To day I would like to talk about the education system in the Czech Republic.Education is the most important thing for everyone to start their contacts with society. If you are a teacher you should probably have heard about Jan Amos Comenius, the author of many wise sayings like „He,who does not care to be instructed, you shall in vain try to instruct, unless you awaken in him a fervent interest in learning“.What do you think of that sentence? Was Comenius right with his wise? I myself agree with him.Whenever you yourself don’t feel any interest for study It’s hard for anyone else to force you right?
Though Comenius lived in the 17th century he came with great ideas of education system like The school should be avaible for boys as well as for girls or the main character of a teacher is to like the children ,like their students or theoretic knowledge should be practiced …As you can see those sentences are so primitive but I wonder whether we do well with those things that were said by Comenius.By the way he is known as the instructor of the nations in numerous countries of Western and Central Europe. He tried to apply his unique ideas to practical life and teaching then put his concept of school into his Didactica-*Lack of talent can be compensated by diligence and effort by the pupil or most learning takes place in youth :P
Well,I’ll start with the youngest one-Kinder garden ^^! It’s for children from 3 years of age.My cousin is going to start his first contacts with society, social rules and ethics. The children teaches them the general principles of the alphabet and of mathematics.(just for a funny story we call those children in the garden-kinder the students of big letters .Just try to remember and imagine your first step of writing you’ll get the point haha.
After kinder garden they start elemental school .After enrolling in the nine-year elementary school ,six-year olds begin their compulsory school attendance. The school year begins on September 1st and finishes on June 30th.Though the 1st September is on Friday your school will start this day. That means you will be at school just for one day and then have weekend. And in Vietnam when It’s Friday or Thursday your school will start on Monday of the next week. Here the school yard finishes 30th June,in Vietnam It’s depends on each school.
As a common in the final year of elemental school they’ll have to choose his future occupation. So your important step starts at the age of 15.The choice depends not only on your interests but also on your performance and success at school. There are various options to be chose like to study at a secondary school(can be industrial, medical or economic)or at an art school.
One of the alternative secondary schools is grammar school, known as gymnázium in Czech. You have to get good results from the last 2 years at elemental school to take the entrance of gymnázium. There are about 2 or 3 pupils from a class of elemental school decide to continue their study at gymnázium. It’is pretty hard to pass as well as to study there but after to be managed with the graduation examination(It's always includes a graduation ball we enjoy a lot because of the special occasion when we can put on some weird clothes
) 90-100% students from gymnazium successfully pass the entrance examinations and interview of universities.
The choices are really wide-ranging. You can decide whether you want to study at school with a technical, humanities , economic orientation or medical faculties
. Universities and technical universities have several levels. Most of them last 3 years. After that you get a bachelor’s degree
. Like in another country over the world the medical study takes the longest time. It’s 5 years for specialist and 6 years for future general doctors.

Travel fair in Pilsen and Daruma dolls
Greetings from Pilsen !!!
Tomorrow is Tuesday 28th October the 90th anniversary of independent Czechoslovakia foundation so everyone in Czech is celebrating or at least having a relax :)
Travel fair is known as a traditional even of Pilsen ,It is held annually .The meaning of this even is to show the visitors the interesting places of Pilsen region.I have been to this one a lot of times and just don't want to go there again but something very special was happening there so for that I decided to see it once again .Experiences are never enough =)).My friend said me that there were also another cities from abroad ,those cities are knowns as sister cities of Pilsen region.
Guess which ones were???? Limoges ,Resensburg and one from Japan Takasaki. There were also some from Slovakia,Hungary and so on.The organizers gave the visitors a lot of good information .Takasaki attracted me the most I just can't describe how nice that city is ! I got from there the doll called Daruma doll. It's one of those things that bring us good luck.It has no arms ,no legs ^_^
Typical colors are red (most common), yellow, green, and white. The doll has a face with a mustache and beard, but its eyes only contain the color white. I really love those contrarieties .Using black ink, one fills in a single circular eye while thinking of a wish. Should the wish later come true, the second eye is filled in. It is traditional to fill in the right eye first; the left eye is left blank until the wish is fulfilled.
Many of the Daruma dolls are male but there is a female daruma doll. It is called "ehime daruma" or "princess daruma."
Bye for now

Hi everybody !
I am telling you something that is very unusual for me ! Talking about Chelsea Fc after their lost against Liverpool on Sunday !
Well, first of all let me to tell you something about this football club .Everyone says that Chelsea has no history!!!!! and I don't agree with them at all.Chelsea of course has its story like each of another football clubs but they just weren't successful like what they was showing in last a few years :P
When I was in Vietnam I used to watch only world cup. What i can say now Vietnamese guys are crazy fans of football .They can be compared like English hooligans :P When they talk about their hobbies I guess 90% of them will say football is the best way to spend their free time.People are crazy of football, they enjoy watching all the leagues like Premier League ,Seria A ,La Liga and also Budesliga :)
You must be there to see how football means for Vietnamese guys. They get up at 2 o'clock in the morning to watch the games besides that their work starts at 8 am the next day.I still remember whenever Vietnam win any international match people come to the street and celebrate together. That's something I really miss when living in Czech.
Well, back to the main topic !!!! Chelsea is known also as the blues ! Just 2 years ago they called Premier league the blue league. The reason is clear Chelsea took over the titles from Manchester United. For those 2 seasons the blues is known as the king of premier league .
I am sure a lot of football fans don't like Chelsea.I have heard about many reasons of their dislikes but one of the main reasons is because of the club owner Abramovich!!!! He bought the club and helped it come over the debts .I myself don't like him at all but I must say without that millionaire how Chelsea will be !!! So just to be a little bit realistic !!! money is really important in football. It brings the clubs new players, new couch !!!
José Mourinho !!! The special one !!!! Though the fans of other clubs can hate him they must say he's the special one !!!! He's the one who changed the history of the club.José brought titles to the blue fans he brought the happiness to many people
When the fans of other clubs hate whatever he says .I myself adore his quotes and I am sure a lot of other blue fans think his sentences are unique :P He’s conceited but that’s also means José is proud of his wonderful work.He is proud of the blues !His quotes support the players, when he was the couch of chelsea have never been worried about the results of the club.
Apart from Mourinho I have a lot reason why to love the blues. There are so many many talented footballers .The best one and also the best captain is John Terry. He grew up at Chelsea, has been playing for this club since his youth. There is no doubt about how chelsea and the fans mean for him.I think the hardest time of his career was the day Chelsea lost against Manchester united in the Champions league final.
I would talk about football all the day ;))
That was something I can't live without ! I spent a lot of time on watching football and reading news about premier league but unfortunately time isn't enough for all those thing that I want to do now.
It's late here I have got to go to bed now after a happy and relaxed day with family and relatives.
Good night !!!

How to practice English?
Hi everyone ! shalom!Hallo!Hola !
Ohayou gozaimasu !Ciao!!!!! Xin chŕo !
Ahoj! Salut ! Ni hao !
Have you ever stopped to consider how many people are saying "hello" to each other today and in how many different languages? If you wanted to say "hello" to everyone on the planet, you would have to learn at least 2,796 languages and say "hello" to at least 6,500,000,000 (six and a half thousand million) people, (or six and a half billion, in numbers used in the US).
Well,as you can see there are a lot of ways to say hello in different languages. Each of us speaks their native language but thanks to English that keeps people from around the world together. How that language is important for us !
I myself think the best way to be fluent in any language is practice it .Maybe a lot of people here will agree with me at that point.Where people tend to go to practice a language? They tend to go to that country where that language is spoken. It's the best way that I can see from my experience of learning Czech language. When I was in Vietnam I just though English is spoken in Czech or at least people speak French there !!!!
As you can see how someone that had ever known about that language could manage with it now ^^!(Sorry,I am not that haughty girl to speak about myself that way)Just want to tell you an example of the power of practice a foreign language :)
It's really difficult when you can be in contact with the language you are learning.Whenever you learn a new word you can practice it immediately right.?You see that word in various ways.
I still remember when I started with Czech numbers with brother we used to go to the smaller shops to just buy some sweets :)At the first time we couldn't understand what the sellers said so for sure we gave them the banknote ^^!though the sweets cost only a few Czech crowns :P Whenever we came to visit our uncle he always asking us why we both have such that heavy pockets =)) we used to change those coins to get the banknotes from our uncle ^^!
When we learn the vocabularies of vegetables we again chose the market to practice them.If we had gone to the supermarket ,we haven't got that change of speaking those new words. In the markets at least we had to say it,ask for the prices and so on ...So for that what I can speak now in czech is totally different from English. Shame on what I have learn for those years in English :((
Well, back to to main topic ^^ only a few people have that chance to go to England or to the US,Canada or Australia where English is spoken as an official language. They are lucky right ?But there are many many ways that can helps you to practice English though you don't have to go to those countries :P
Let's practice English on the net ! Of course BBC is a great site to learn English but unfortunately there isn't any place to practice it ????Let me tell you some websites that I found in the summer and after being there as a member I am more into English.
Though some of you will say it's waste of time by practicing it that way.Well,I myself felt the same !!! but 4,5 months after when I am here blogging I have to appreciate that time spending on chatting in English with people from around the world ! I am someone that spend almost of free time in front of the screen so that fits me more than learning all day those grammar lessons and have no chance to use whatever I have learned .
Those websites offer you the precious chance to talk to people from different countries,to know something more about their habits, views of this life and of course the most important thing is have a chance to practice that language .When you are so nice you can offer your native language to the others that want to learn it from you .
The links for those websites
If anyone of you have any experiences how to learn a foreign language ,let us now please .We are looking forward to seeing your advices !!!!
Have a nice evening !
P/S: The end of October is coming
so i can see this entry will be one of my last entries
here. That's something I have to accept though it's really really difficult for me.....
I have a lot of things to write here but I still couldn't find the way how to "catch the time and put it into a surgery then operate on it make it an invalid :) " So then any of us won't have to say how time goes by so fast all the time :P
Hi everybody,It's me Linda again though It's 1st November ^^
.I couldn't post the last entry to say good bye to Simon and all of you..
.I have been being so busy with study and the Halloween party on Friday ^^.We celebrated all the night though I had to leave early in the morning for my lessons in Prague.I just want to say good bye and wish all of you the best :)Any way thanks a lot for your support during my short time being here as a blogger.I enjoyed reading Simon's entries and his advice .I loved reading your comments that I couldn't reply though I read all of them :)
