I'm Xuan and I'm from Vietnam.I'm the next student blogger after Cristina.Today is May 1st,everyone has one day off but Vietnamese people have 2 days off.
Yesterday,April 30th,was the Victory Day of our country. On this day,we don't have to work or to go to school.
Every year,on April 30th,we have a ceremony for the Victory Day.After 30 years of the long and difficult resistance war in the fighting against French and American army,we have completely victory for freedom, independence, for liberation the Southern part of Vietnam and for the reuinification of our Motherland on April 30th,1975.
Nowadays,Vietnam is the peaceful and friendly country. We want to make friend and we are always welcome to everyone in all country on over the world. Our country is not rich,it's developing and I hope and I believe that someday Vietnam will become a powerful country like England,America...
This is my first entry on BBC's blog.My English is not well and I hope everyone will help me to develope my English.
Thanks and glad to make friend with all of you ^_^
P/S:here is my picture,I took it when I had a journey with my class at DoSon beach, one of the famous beach in Vietnam :)

A little problem!
We're having a few problems with the student system at the moment. We hope to get everything sorted out by the end of today (or by Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday in the UK).

I'm Xuan and I'm from Vietnam ^_^
Thank you for all your comments for my blog.I'm very happy to see that my blog is welcomed. At this time I'm preparing for my final exam so I have little time to post my new blog but I will try to post one blog per week.^_^
Yes,I'm a student. Now I'm studying at the National Economics University and I want to become a businesswoman.I'm 20 years old and many people said that my body age is younger than my calender age,I'm very happy ^_^
About the war in Vietnam,I don't know more about it.When I was born,it had finished and I only know it by learning history at secondary and high school but it was very terrible. Many people were killed. :(
When I have free time,I will post a blog which summarise the war in Vietnam for everyone to understand.Ok?
Now,Vietnam is a beautiful and peaceful country. Our country is very friendly and WELCOME TO VIETNAM! :)

Dear Mrs Anne
I 've read your post and thanks for your advices.Yes,now I'm very busy for my final exams sometimes I feel stressed.I 've begun my final exams on May 9th,it was Physical Education and luckily,I passed it :-).My next exam will be on May 22nd.
Now I'm living in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, do you know it?It's in the North of Vietnam.
About my first post, yes,I made some mistake:
1. Nowadays Vietnam is the peaceful and friendly country
2. We want to make friend // glad to make friend
3. My English is not well
4. This is my first entry on BBC's blog
and I change them like this:
1. Nowadays Vietnam is a peaceful and friendly country
2. We want to make friends // glad to make friends
3. My English is not good
4. This is my first post on BBC blog
Are these correct?
Today is Saturday and I spend more time to read your blog and post my new blog.I hope you will help me to improve and develope my English.^_^
Have a nice weekend!

Today it's so hot in Hanoi,I feel very tired :(.The weather in Hanoi now is not stable, somedays it's rainny but somedays it's so hot.It 's easy to be ill by this weather :(
It's wonderful to hear that you visited Hanoi.Yes,I know Hang Bo street,it's an old street in Hanoi and if you go to Hanoi again,I will take you to many interesting places in it,I promise :-).Now,a lot of the cycles have been replaced by motorbikes and cars .I think it's not good for enviroment because much petro is eliminated into the air.
Why I signed my name ‘Bichxuan'? yes,it's my full name and in English,my fullname means Green Spring :-).I love my name ^_^.What about you?
Thank you for a short quiz for me,Anne
(1) It’s Monday today and I right now I am writing this blog.
(2) I posted my blog last night.
(3) I am glad that my exams have started
(4) I have passed my first exam
(5) I passed my first exam yesterday

Good bye and have a nice day.

Summer and flowers!
Hi Anne and everyone!
sorry for my late post.I was busy on 3days.^_^
one more week pass and i will have the 2nd final exam on May,22nd.Good luck for me :-)
At first, thank you so much for all the comments and thanks for an interesting question from Ernesto - do you prefer a rainy day or a hot one? I prefer a rainy day, but i like it rains at night. After the rain, the air is pure, the road is clean in the next morning and you will feel very comfortable.I fear the hot day, because Vietnam is a tropical country and in summer,it's so hot.The temperature is always about 38 degrees.I often stay at home,I rarely go out in the hot day. What about you,all my friends???
Secondly, thanks Anne for a weather vocabulary quiz for me,but sadly,i only answer 3 questions ^_^
• An umbrella keeps the rain off you. What is the name of the object, that looks like an umbrella, that keeps sunshine off you?
--> it's SUNSHADE
• Rearrange the letters to form name of the illness you get if you spend too long in the sun. (ROTESHATEK)
--> it's HEATSTROKE
• What are wellies (this is a slang word)?
--> I think it's boot which you use when it rains.
I like flowers and i like your "Flowers" post, too. They are very nice! The same as Thailan, there are many kind of flowers in Vietnam, specially in Summer.I have some pictures about Summer flowers in our country for all of you
It's White Lily
It's Paper flower
and here are 2 typical flowers in Summer in Vietnam:
we call it's Phoenix-flower
In Vietnam,we call it is Bằng Lăng flower but I can't find the English name of this flower :-(
OK,I like them and i hope everyone likes, too
Have a nice weekend, see you on my next post
Best Wishes from,
Bichxuan-- Green Spring ^_^

a lovely weekend xxx
Hi Anne and everyone,
I had a lovely weekend with my cousin. We went to the countryside to visit our grandparents and we took many photos .
In my opinion,my countryside is very nice. It's a quiet and peaceful place.Whenever I feel stressed,I often come back it.There is a little car, motorbike in my hometown so the air is very pure,it's very good for your health :-)
As you know,Vietnam is also an agricultural country so there are many rice fields,my countryside is,too. The rice fields are very large, they are all green and I like it very much. You can see it:
I know that in the West, there is more wheatfields than ricefields is.They all yellow,is it right? and I'm sure that everyone will like the green of ricefields when you see it.
My grandparents have been living here for 80 years. It's really a long time, now, both of them are 80years old.Although thay are old but they are very well. They were farmers and now they retire. They often walk together along the road beside the ricefields to see it and to breath the pure air.
I'm a student and I don't live with them.I live in Hanoi with my parents and sometimes we visit them for 1 or 2days at the weekend.whenever I visit them,I often cook some dishes for them. It's only simple dishes but they said they like it and they feel very happy. It make me happy, too :-).
I love my grandparents,I love my countryside ^_^ xxx
and there are 2 photos I want to share with all of you:
I and my cousin
Byeeeeeeeeeeee and see you in my next post

Hello Anne and everyone,
I have finished my 2nd final exam this morning. At first,I felt a bit of nervous before start it but I kept my calm after that and I felt confident ^_^.This exam wans't so difficult for me to do and I did it fast. When I finished it,I went out and exchanged information about it with my friends.Unfortunately,I found that I had one mistake,I felt regret and I wish I had checked it carefully :-( but no matter what,I believe that I will pass :-)
I continue my 3rd exam next Monday,on May 26th.
I'm happy to realise that we have the same star sign.I am a Virgo, too :-).I 'm sure that you had a delicious meal with your family with chicken.I like chicken and my mother often cook it for me but now,in Vietnam there is chicken flu pandemic (H5N1--do you know???) so I eat it little than that :-(
Thanks all for wishing me luck!
bye and see you soon
All the bests,

Hi Anne and everyone,
Yesterday,my high school held a school-year ending ceremony for the grade 12 and I went to my hometown to take part in it.I left it in 2006.
2years to go,now I'm a student but I don't forget all memories about my class,my school.
There were 25 pupils in my class,17boys and 8 girls ^_^.We were solidary and friendly. My teacher was a enthusiastic person. She always helped us and encouraged us to study well. Moreover, she was a funny teacher. We all love her :-)
Here is my class, the Twelve Informatic (2003-2006)
I will give some information about education in Vietnam. There are 4 levels of studying: Elementary School,Secondary School,High School and University
At Elementary School, you wil study in 5years,from grade 1 to grade 5.
At Secondary School, you wil study in 4years,from grade 6 to grade 9.
At High School, you wil study in 3years,from grade 10 to grade 12
and at university, you will learn in 4 or 5 years,it depends on each one.
about quantifiers, thanks for giving me a quick quiz.I learnt it at high school but I don't remember it clearly.I remember that :
-- FEW and A FEW use with Countable Nouns. FEW uses with Negative meaning and A FEW with Positive one.
-- LITTLE and A LITTLE use with Uncountable Nouns. LITTLE uses with Negative meaning and A LITTLE with Positive one.
-- MANY uses with Countable Nouns,MUCH uses with Uncountable Nouns
-- LOTS OF and A LOT OF uses with both of them
Are they right???
LOT OF // MANY // FEW // MANY // A FEW
1. There are A FEW cars or motorbikes in my home town.
2. There are not MANY cars or motorbikes in my home town.
3. There are only FEW cars and motorbikes in my home town.
4. There are a LOT OF rice fields in my country.
5. There are MANY rice fields in my country.
I like the picture of the countryside you lived,it's very nice ^_^
I will have the 3rd final exam tomorrow.Good luck to me !
Bye and have a nice weekend, everyone

I'm learning English at Language Link Vietnam on Monday,Wednesday and Friday and today,we have had a new teacher. He's American and he is handsome ^_^ .He came to Vietnam 3months ago and he became a teacher of Language Link Vietnam. He speaks so fast and not as clearly as my old teacher but every one in my English class like him.He would invite us to have a coffee the following Friday,he said.
Can you tell me about bank holiday in England.Anne?I don't understand what you said.Maybe,it is a holiday for all people work in bank?I don't know ,I olny guess ^_^
I like the picture about Istanbul,it's very beautiful :-).I think that you really had nice memories in Turkey with Steve.
