Episode1: an introduction
Before we start blogging, let me introduce myself first. My name is Chittisa but if you think it is difficult to pronounce or remeber you could call me "Aey". I am a fresh graduate from the University in Thailand. As I promised BBC learning English that if I had the oppotunity to join this section, I would write about my life after University since Iooking for a job, getting an interview until I would get a proper one. Then you are gonna catch up my woking life and lifestyle that are going to change from a student to a working woman. By the way if you do not think they are interesting or get annoyed with them. Please ignore them and turn this page off or give me your comments :) . I must apologize you in advance for any mistakes.
Well, Let get started here!! Because my promises with the BBC were maden 2 weeks ago, and I have already got a job at the moment I would tell you briefly (or not) about what I have been up to after I finished the University.I could remember precisely like everything just happened yesterday. Actually, I completed my degree since last April. After that, I have been to England and took the English language course. Before I went there, my English was quite poor. I always made mistakes when I spoke due to what I call "the direct translation". For example, I always said this day, instead of today. As today mean WAN-NEE in my language, and WAN in Thai word is meant DAY in English. NEE in Thai is THIS in English. I am not sure if you get what I meant but I know it is really ashamed.after I came back my English is better. of course, not perfect but better than it used to be.
When I stayed in the UK, I had a chance to visit many places. I have been to Scotland, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Blackpool and the last but not least, London. I gained load of experiences from living in the UK, met many new friends as well as improved my English skills . The other thing that I got while I lived in the UK is that I got a chance to know the BBC learning English. As I told you that my English was not good before, so I really had to fix it up to be able to communicate with native speakers and other friends from many countries. Therefore this website were really helpful when I did not go out anywhere, I loved to spend my time by sitting in front of computer whole day, learning English from this useful website.I now do miss the UK and wish I would have one more chance to get there.
I said goodbye to the UK on the 20 th of August and the plane landed to Bangkok, Thailand on the 21 st of August in the afternoon. I spent 1 day to take a rest then the next day I sorted out all of my documents from the University which I received while I was not in Thailand. I found out that there have been many jobs which need TOEIC score to prove our abilities in English Language for working.so I decided to take TOEIC examination 2 days later. For someone who do not know what the TOEIC is. You could check it out from the website www.ets.org/toeic/. I got the total scores of 760 from 990.Personally, it was not wonderful, but not too bad.
As soon as I got the TOEIC results, I started to apply for a job. Firstly I searched on websites that provide us with the job details of the companies or I am supposed to call them recruitment network. The process is that you just edit your resumes on those websites then they will be sent to HR of the companies to evaluate. In Thailand, it has been the popular way in applying for a job because we have no need to get out of our homes, spend money on travelling expenditure with the great benefits in applying for lots of job within only 1 day.In my point of view, this is a good way to apply for a job, but anyway it is not the best.
Actually, I do believe that if you are really interested to work for any companies and if they permit you to walk in their companies to apply for a job. you are supposed to get there. With the first reason is that you would see and touch the real atmosphere of those companies. You would find that you are not happy with the environment of some companies and fancy in another. The other reason which I personally think is to show your effort to work with them. Perhaps if you are lucky or they are in urgent requirement. You might get an interview in the same day.
How about in your guys countries? which is the most efficient way beteween the use of the online solution or the original walking in the prospective companies?
Anyway, I spent all of my first week with sending my online resume but nothing happened, ain't no companies contacted me back. I really got upset so the second week I changed my mind from sitting at home whole day and waitng someone ring me .I started to get out and walk in many companies just to fill their applications and to leave them in their baskets.I felt more releif because at least I ensured that my applications were on their hands. In this week I had the oppotunity to do the interview with one company....
all right, I think I have got to stop blogging at here because I must go out in a few minutes. Tomorrow I am going to continue my second week as a job hunter. Oh dear! I nearly forgot to tell you more about me. I graduted from the bachelor degree in Civil Engineering but the job which I am responsible for at the moment is not a civil engineer but I believe that I will be able to develop my knowledge and make a different contribution for the company.
I just came back from Pattaya last night..lol Don't misunderstand I didn't go for my holidays but I have been there for working. So they allow me to take Monday off. I have been a bit tired but anyway I am joyful to start my blog, to share my stories with you. Finally, for someone who are job seekers. I wish you are good luck and get the job you want soon.

Have a nice sleep
First of all, I really appreciate your welcoming comments. It is 11.32 PM in Thailand. I just got home for a while then turned on the computer to write this blog.
Today I met my best friend after I finished working. I have not seen her since I came back from Britain. It was nice to see someone whom you can rely on. We had a great dinner and made some little chats.Everythings was great but I have been a bit worried that we will have less time to talk to each other from now on because we are supposed to concentrate on our jobs. We used to spend many hours on the phone, talking from dusk til dawn.It seems the things are going to change. We have more responsibilities,no time to waste however I reckon that friends will always be friends. Do you agree with me?
Thank you indeed for everyone who gave me best regards for fighting with my first job. As it is quite late and I am really tired tonight, I apologize that I must end today's blog here. But I promise that I will get back and continue my stories from episode1 tomorrow. Also I suppose I would complete my job seeking experiences soon so I will be able to start to tell you about my current job.
Tata for now

Episode2: The Lesson
Today I finished my work a bit late as I prepared the presentation for the meeting next week. Then I went straight to home immediately to update my blogs. I am thinking about how to manage my time at the moment because I have such a lot of things to do.
By the way,Do you still remember what I left in the first entry? I told you that I got an interview in the second week. Before we are going further, there is something I have got to tell you.It might sound weird or completely silly but when you apply for a job in Thailand if you know someone who works and has great power in the company you applied to, you will get the interview or even that job easier. I don't know how to call some kind of this behaviour in English. I must confess that I was the one who committed such a terrible thing like that. Since I worried that I would not get a job at that time, I asked my mom to help me. She had to ring her friends and asked for their helps. So my interviewing experience started here.
It is a commercial institute. I know you may have a question in your mind. what would I do there? of course, I was so curious too but as you knew, it was because my mom's friend invited me.LoL But everything proved that I have lacked of potential to take this job. They asked me many questions about finance,stock...and guess what? I knew nothing. It was absolutely embarassing, wasn't it?
Oh I just remeber about the other experience that I won't forget for the rest of my life.Backward to my first week of job seeking, Do you know how many online jobs I sent the application for ? 1,2 or 3...don't underestimate me!!! I think the right answer is "10". As it is too easy to click..click..and click, so I did it 10 times. The point is I couldn't even remember the names of the companies. I already got punishment from doing this stupid thing. One day while I was sleeping on my cozy bed, I got a call from one of the companies I applied on internet." Do you know what type of business our company do?", the first question they asked me.Aaarrgghh!!!! my head jerked up,tried to find what they do.In the end, I gave them an answer but it was wrong then they put down their phone without saying goodbye (T_T")
Time passed me by so fast, hard to believe that I have been looking for a job for 3 weeks. In this week, I acted like people who were going to die. I laid down on the bed until half day has gone, repreated speaking the same word, Bored...Bored...Bored. I even thought what if I would not get a job within this year. I don't want to go slower than other friends. I was sitting in front of the internet whole day, did nothing worthwhile. Finally, the third week weaved his hand and left me with the unemployed status.
Ok! I think you won't blame me about all of my stupid.Tomorrow I will tell you what i am doing now. You are going to follow my last week as a job hunter.I must say that the last week is completely incredible. Don't miss it!!!
Ps. What do you think if we will help posting the questions which are frequently asked in the interview? Let me start with "What do you think about your life in 5 years later?"

Episode 3: The end of job hunting
How are you guys doing? I have been sorry that I didn't come to my blogs since Wednesday as my jobs needed to be done.
All right,Let's carry on my things. Stepping back to the beginning of my 4th week with patience to find Mr. right job, I got the contact from a construction company which I applied for the position of engineer. This company was not far from my home. If I took this job, my responsibilities were to help senior engineer estimate the cost of construction and roughly design buildings' structure for bids. They told me that most of their customers have been foreigners.I could see the oppotunities to use English everyday. I had a chance to get an interview with the manager of the company. He was an old man. I felt that everybody there was kind. It was a small company. They all treated like they were people in the same family. They asked a little of questions about me, for example, what was your favourite subjects when you studied in University?. Our conversations were mostly to explain my duties. They accepted me immediately after we finished the first interview.I walked out of there with a little smile on my face and the first job I got.I was so proud that I got the job by my own, not because of anyone's help...Arww..except my dad who drove me there and picked me up after I finished, Thanks dad.
Anyway,it seemed my job oppotunities already came and didn't last for now, I got a call from another companies in evening of the same day. I decided to do more interview the day after, I just thought that it was good to try. I didn't expect anything since I knew that I was unemployed no more. This time was a real estate business, located in Bankok's center business district. The position I applied for was not an engineer, but a valuer. This company own lands of many provinces in Thailand.A valuer must do survey for their properties and decided that they should be sold or be invested by developing projects. They accepted me as well. I still remember the feeling of confusion. I was supposed to choose the first job, the engineer one. But guess what???
I changed my mind after I was thinking about it for 3 days. I didn't keep a promise to myself as I said before that I would work as hard as I could for the first company where gave me the first oppotunity. I should be an engineer, but what happened to me? why did I leave when It gonna start? I knew well that the reasons were about the salary, the size of company etc. Will you know what I mean if I ask you something?..Do you want to be a little mouse in a big palace or you want to be a lion in a small place? I already choose to be a mouse.I knew this might be the wrong decision. Anyway, I believe that whatever I choose, I would regret in the future. The only thing I should concern is to do my best in the present.
I still got contacts from companies I sent my applications to, did and passed loads of interview in the 4th week of job seeking but I realized that I should satisfy with what I picked, do it as well as possible. Oh! I forgot to tell you that I got the first job on the 21st of September, 1 moth later since I came back from the UK.
Well! I think I will be ending the story of job hunter here. Tomorrow I suppose I would be able to start my life as a working woman. For anyone who are looking for a job, I wish you are good luck and come to share your experiences here

Cats and Dogs
Don't panic!!! It's just raining. It is like Bangkokers' game of this month to guess whether it will rain in the evening.Although I was supposed to get used to this kind of weather since I have been to England, I always looked out from the windows to check the colour of the sky every hours. I know it rains almost everyday in the UK. Briton might not be able to identify which months are their rainy season. They usually walk along the street among the bloody rain, like they don't care if they get wet or probably they might think it is just another normal day. If you could reach my mind at the moment, you would see the picture in my heads. People in the blacks are keeping on walking even it has started raining for a while. Oh! I must add that they all look good in black, like no other countries could (it's my opinion, I'm sorry if you don't agree with me or feel irritated). But In my country, this is absolutely different,at least we don't look cool in blacks ;p. Rain has killed people, destroyed many houses and made someone homeless in Thailand. If you will give the definition of British rain as shower, I must say mine are waterfalls, heavy and powerful.Since it rained yesterday evening, there was a little of flood, occured in the front of my company. When I finished working , I couldn't imagine how high the water was.
It was horrible when I found that the level was too high to walk. It was about the height of wheel. I saw many people who just got out of their office decided to wait inside their buildings, but it wasn't me. I thought if I waited until the level of water decreases, I was probably not be able to get home beore 10.00 pm. I'm not joking if you live in Thailand, you will know that it is true. You might stuck in he middle of nowhere. I mean you will face the terrible traffic jam when it rains. So I decided to walk, didn't be afriad of anything, even Mr. Peter :p. I must give my apologise again for someone whose name is Peter. As me and my friends gave this name for the other definition of cockroch. That's right,Mr. Peter came with the flood Argh!!! T_T. While I was flighting with Mr. Peter who came around to say hi, I kept thinking I would renovate the roads in Thailand, if I were the government. I also reckoned that it's the civil engineer's department. I felt a bit ashamed that I had no chance to do it.
By the way, As I told you in the lastest part that I got a job at a real estate company. I have been working there for 2 weeks now. Everything is all right although there have been something slightly changed. When I was achild, I woke up late and my dad had to kick me out from my bed. In recent day, that's hard to happen. I start working at 8.00 am and finish at 5.00 pm from Mon.-Fri. I sometimes might have to go to upcountry on weekends to survey their propeties in other provinces as well. I'm not afraid to travel because I think it's some kind of experience I will never get if I only stay at office. For this reason, they allow me to take day off on weekday. But my dad isn't happy with this system. He said they should pay me extra for going to another place.Huhhh...In reality,It is impossible to get everything we want.I get annoyed whenever he keep saying about this topic but I tried to calm down since I know he has good intention and wants me to get the best thing. I still think that he prefers me being an engineer.
All right, I'm gonna back to work. speak later

How are you doing today? It's Friday night. I think some of you might plan to hang out with your friends or some might fancy staying and watching TVs at home. What's about me? At first I thought about inviting my friends to have some gorgeous ice-cream at the shopping mall nearby our University but It's pity that I had to change my plan because I didn't want my mom to get home on her own. You are probably thinking it sounds strange why my mom can't get home without me. The real reason is that it's my plan to save money as much as I can
LoL. I must admit that I have been more careful to spend money since I came back from the UK .When I stayed there, I always realized that I had lived on mom's money. Since my dad retired, Money have came from her only. I felt a bit guilty with this feeling so before I bought something, I would sum up all prices I had to pay in my head. I still memorize that I spent 2-3 hours in TESCO, just to get some yogurt and biscuits. It was crazy, wasn't it? I checked the prices of each brand and compared their quantities. But if you have known me before, you would be surprised, for example I used to love starbucks coffee and never finished it, I mean sometimes I just bought some ice coffee, saw it melted with the half left then threw it to bin(actaully, I still love it but I'm not suposed to do :P), I also used the quote, "Buying before thinking", using the services of taxi instead of bus. Before you will be confused what I'm trying to tell you, Back to the purpose of getting home with mom. As I said my dad has already retired therefore he has become my mom's private driver. He picks mom up everyday but today he couldn't. So mom had to go home by Taxi (It is not convenience for her to take a bus) and I think It's better if we both take it together, probably it seems buy 1 get 1 free. I think I must expain what this promotion package is."Buy 1" is meant we can save money by pay the same rate as traveling only 1 person. And "Get 1 free" is that I have more privte time ( Don't think of a taxi driver ) to talk to mom, spend time with her.
I really want to ask you about how to mange your money each month. I have been trying to find the best way to spend less and save more. howww... I'm so tired and better go to bed. I'm sorry that I haven't told you more about my current job. I think if I'm available tomorrow. I'll point to my job description more than this.
Hope to see you tomorrow

Hate it or love it
LoL... I have started the greeting with German language which I just learnt for 5 minutes ago :p from BBC languages so if I used it in the wrong way, please accept my apologies in advance. I know I shouldn't start to learn another laguage at the moment since I'm supposed to improve my English as much as I can. Anyway, I think learning the third language is not the bad idea in the recent century.
Well! How was the beginning of your working day? Everything all right? Some people don't like Monday as it's the first day of a week. That means they gonna work for another 4 days. But I love this yellow day. I'm thinking of the new beginning.I always start to do the new things on Monday. I've got the belief that evrything will go on well if we start at the good point. After we recharge our baterries on weekends, our energies should be full and get ready to carry on our things. What about you and Monday? Hate it or love it?
All right, I think we have known each other better than the firt time so I would like to invite you to my office. Today I got the assignment to evaluate the company's property It's a luxury condominium. I had to analize every units in this condo, check the master plan to find out if each rooms are practical to being used. Not only our plans that I got to work it out but our competitors also.So my table was full of papers.I was attracted to this job. I have done it by forgetting about time. Anyway, while I was taking a break to breathe and staying with myself for a while, I got a blip of wonder what I have been doing. If you are not in my field, you might think this task should be related to the engineer department but if you know the truth, you will get what I mean. Everything was new for me. On weekend I spent my time with reading loads of architectural book.I felt a bit missing engineer's jobs.Imagine how my life would be, if I chose the other job. No....ooo!!! stop thinking!! No more regret. I shaked my head and thought of what my mom said "go ahead and do it the best" .Well, Look in the positive side, There are such a lot of things to learn in my life and it's not too bad for developing my knowledges. I could learn many skills from this job. I'm not supposed to give up since I haven't started to run.How about your Monday? Please come around and share your experiences with me.
For someone who's tired of your responsibilities, Cheers up!! ,Hang in there!! I do believe that every jobs are worth doing.

I'm starving!!!!!!! What happened to me? Why can't I stop eating. It seems I want to eat more and more. After I'm fulled, all I need is sleeping. These happens everyday. If I write down what I've done, it must be "working","eating" and "sleeping".I think it's happened since I started working. My routine has been changed. In the morning, I have to get out of the bed with my closed eyes. I haven't watch TV at night because I'm too tired to be interested in any prgramme.
Where is a girl who sleep late, watch TV. over night? LoL I even thought I got insomnia disease in that time.Sleeping used to be my problem. But they are all the past, never happen again. Have you got the word to explain my symptoms? I'm thinking of "jet lag" syndrome now.How will you diagnose my disease? Working lag?? Is that ok? :p
Before I got a job, I had plans to do many things. But if I have time at the moment, I just want to sleep. What am I supposed to do to refresh mytself when I get home every night? Plase give me your advice. As I really want to do many activities, read load of interesting books and write everyday's blogs.
Ok,guys. I better say goodnight here before I'm sleeping at the front of computer.See you tomorrow .

Take a break
How was your weekend? Mine was wonderful.Me, my dad and my sister went out for having a lovely dinner.Mom didn't come with us as she went up to Chiang Rai, a north province of Thailand with her friends. And the basic matter was "no mom, no foods" LoL . It was like our short trip. We drove around from place to place, having a big meal here and taking some sweets there. Everything was great and I wished mom were here with us. I carried my big belly with a wonderful moment home. <333
I woke up a bit late this morning. It's a public holiday.Great!!! while I was planning to lay in my bed, watch TV all day, I noticed a piece of paper on the table. Oh!!!! no!!!! Don't tell me that I took my works to home. I opened my eyes wider and saw them clearer. My dream was collapsed immediately. "Welcome back to the real world", those files said. What I have to do is to study the feasibility of the project as my company are planning to develop the new housing project. Anyway, I won't give up. There will be more than 20 years that I will be able watch TV. after the retirement. So hang in there...cheers!!!

He says, She says
Before we will get today's blog started, please accept my apologies for the big guilty that I couldn't keep the promise to blog everyday as I expected. I know It's really ashamed for me who can't manage the timetables of my daily ife. I've got a problem in coping with my position. Some of my friends said I put myself in busy too much. I think she might want to say " you are bad in managing your times. Please forgive me, before my time as a student blogger will last. I really appreciate in every comments. And I will use them to help me be the better girl.
How are you doing? I hope you guys will be happy with your working day. Do it the best when you've still got time, energy and chance to do.Finally, It's only 1 month for another steps in my life as a working woman. When I looked back at the first day I paced to the office. I saw a little girl who brought her eagerness to work and learn new things.LoL That makes me scared of myself. I was wondering if that light would be gone in the future. I admit that sometime I was so tired and lost my conciousness for a while. It's great when you do your jobs properly, but if you can't, that day is seemed to be a nightmare. Two days ago, while I was working, I heard of some annoying stories. Sorry that I can't give more details because I'm afraid if someone who get involved will meet this blog by chance. All I can say is that It's about the inside of my company. They tried to convince me that I shouldn't work here for long.
I was curious in what told me. But when I think about it over and over, I realize that I should let the time prove evrything. If I do the best in my jobs, no one can't blame me. " Because there are such a lot of things in this life to learn"

Chapter 1, where I introduce myself and talk about the weather.
Hello, Salut, Guten Tag, Buenos Dias, Salva, Ni Hao, Konecheva, and, of course, Preved Krasavchegi!!!
These are all the greetings I know to met the international audience of BBC Learning English. I'm very glad to get a racing baton of blogging from Chittisa and I hope I'll bear this gift with honour. I also believe all of you will help me and we are all shall get lots of fun studying this wonderful language.
First, let me outline a bit my background for you to get more familiar with the situation. I live in Russia, in a town named Nizhny Novgorod. It's situated four hundred kilometers east from the capital Moscow, at a junction of two great russian rivers Volga and Oka. I plan to tell you more about my town in my further posts. I'm "an IT-guy", a software ingeneer. I write programs for computers and I like it. It's extremely creative job. I've got a family, a wife and two childer which are boys. All of them learn English as well.
So, what else? Oh, yes, my age... I'm thirty five. Well, not too young for learning, but I can do nothing about it. I think that's enough for the first introduction. Stay in touch with the blog and you will know more. ;) And now I'm going to proceed with discussion of what's happening around. Let's roll!
What shall we start to talk about? The weather, of course! Actually, the weather is ugly. It's cold and windy and rainy. And it's not "raining cats and dogs", but coward pouring rain which sneaks under your collar and makes you shiver. By the way, I got understanding of phrase "raining cats and dogs" from one of the previous bloggers, Antonio Tanzola, which indicates that the blog is quite useful. Well, generally speakig, I've allready heard such a phrase, which is popular, but I always thought it stands for something weird and unusual. And it was a discussion between Antonio and correspondent teacher blogger (I'm sorry I didn't remember her name) where I picked up the correct meaning. So, long live to the blogging! Ok, let's get back to the weather. Vivid colours (thanks Tricia for this pattern :) ) of early autumn are getting paled and we are all looking forward waiting for snow will lay down the ground and (should I put additional 'will' here?) make the environment white and clear. Actually it is snow falling down behind my window at the moment, but it is not constant yet. It's a 'test snowing' of nature and the snow melts touching the ground and just adds water to soil mud. Well, I think we'll survive. At least, thanks goodness, my job is indoors. The main disadvantage of our local climate is that the weather varies significantly during the year and you have to have lots of different clothes to cope with these fluctuation. And you have to glance at outer termometr to check the temperature outside and put on apropriate clothes. Otherwize you're at risk to get influenza.
But there is also a slight relief in the current season specific. All the bears have fallen into their winter sleep so they won't jerk pedestrians while rambling down the streets untill spring. Well, it'a joke, actually. :) There are no bears in my town, besides those two-legs bears who sometimes like to stand upon your feet in a bus. At this funny point I'd like to stop for today.

Chapter 2. Problems of English learning.
Hi everybody! It's me, again. As we like to say in such cases: 'The gap between the first and the second must be little' :)
Hello again, Tricia, and thanks for the new words and patterns. It will be easy to remember some of them like 'sleet' because it resembles russian word 'slyakot' for similar situations. I can't say why exactly I started with talking about the weather. May be, the weather plays significant part in our life. We often make our plans in accordance with the weather forcast and as that one could be easily wrong our life can go erratic. The other reason why I told the weather might be semiconscious following Anglo-centric way. I read some books about England in my childhood (my favorite one was 'David Copperfild' by Charles Dickens) so I'm aware of some England traditions. It's a shame of me, but I haven't read those books in English yet. And speaking about clothes... It's understandable when uniform makes you wear sertain things, but I can tell You, there are lots of young girls over here who wear short skirts and jackets just because it's fasionable. It looks nice, but I reckon it's not too healthy to be with a naked navel when it's cold. That makes me really wondering.
And now I'd like to discuss some problems which I've been facing while learning English. First af all, it's articles. We have no artcles in Russian so it takes significant time for me to decide whether I should put an article in front of a noun and if so - which one. Pondering about the problem, I've come to conclusion that Russian language is full of implications. When we speak something we're keeping many things in mind. And we don't need to specify subjects. Due to this we may use constructions like this: 'take this with this and put it into this' :) Sounds weird, doesn't it? I think in English such phrases impossible. Am I wrong?
Another problem I faced with is patterns including phrasal verbs etc. Sometimes parts of a pattern are placed at a distance in a sentence. And it's difficult to distinguish them as one pattern. Espesially in oral speech.
It would be great if someone share with me his or her view on these problems as well as on other problems which he or she faced with while learning English. And how do you cope with them.
See you tomorrow.
