I was surprise as we do not have that in Germany for example, IBM in Italy and Nordics they close completely for one month in summer.
So they really shut down because it's the custom in these countries. For example, in Spain, IBM has flexible working hours so they
would work longer in winter, and then close at 2 or 3 in the summer because it gets too hot. So that it is also common there, but I
was not aware of that before I came here.
