James Menendez
- Started as a trainee reporter for BBC local radio in 1995.
- From 1998 he spent a couple of years producing and editing programmes.
- He became a roving field producer in 2001 travelling to Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Middle East and Iraq
- He moved to Venezuela and became the BBC correspondent there.
- In 2004 he returned to London and began presenting occasional stints on Newshour and the World Today.
- He started presenting full-time for World Briefing in 2007
One of my best broadcasting moments has to be standing on the side of Mount Etna in Sicily as the volcano gently erupted and the hot lava - crackling through the microphone - slid slowly down in front of us.
