  • Born in Cardiff, Wales, he studied economics at Cambridge University
  • Before presenting Business Daily, Steve was industry and labour correspondent for the main BBC television and radio news programmes
  • From 2001, he was the BBC's North America Business correspondent, covering the collapse of Enron and all aspects of American business. He won a Sony Gold for his radio coverage of Detroit
  • He was in the World Trade Center on 9/11 and broadcast from the scene, in between the two planes hitting the buildings. His coverage won America's prestigious George Polk award
