Educated at Sussex University and Surrey University.

Started in radio presenting a request show on hospital radio at 14.

Joined the BBC giving greyhound tips for local radio.

Also lectures in psychology for Boston University. Wrote a book called "Emotional Rollercoaster" - a book on the science of emotions.

Loves crochet and gardening.

Working for BBC World Service gave me the chance to go on the most fascinating trip I've ever been on - The Bangladesh River Journey. Travelling the rivers of Bangladesh, hearing the views of people living in remote areas was an extraordinary experience.
