Riek Machar on Kony meeting

Commander Riek Machar
Vice-president of southern Sudan, Riek Machar recorded his meeting with LRA chief, Joseph Kony
The southern Sudanese vice president, Riek Machar gave details to Focus on Africa about his recent face-to-face meeting with the leader of the Ugandan rebel group the Lords Resistance Army (LRA), Joseph Kony.

The interview with Mr Machar comes days after the Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni gave Joseph Kony until the end of July to end the war in the north of the country peacefully.

Kony, who has led a long running insurgency, is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes.

On the line to southern Sudan, Joseph Warungu asked Riek Machar where exactly he met the LRA chief.
