Michael Jackson in 'record' $200m music deal

Michael Jackson

It is reportedly the biggest ever recording deal in the music industry.

Michael Jackson's estate is believed to have signed a contract with Sony Music worth more than $200m.

That means it's worth more than the deals signed between music companies and Madonna and the rapper Jay-Z.

The deal reportedly involves 10 album projects over seven years - including one of previously unreleased material

Sony has been Michael Jackson's company since the late 1970s although relations became strained when the singer borrowed hundreds of millions of pounds.

The music critic Robert Sandell has written extensively about Michael Jackson.
