Why Wikipedia will win through

The history of the internet is littered with websites that were red-hot storming successes in their day, but which ended pretty much as damp squibs.

Think of AltaVista, the search engine that used to be one of the hits of the 1990s, until the coming of the mighty Google.

So which of the current crop of popular websites might lose steam in the same way?

Recently news headlines suggested it might be the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, but Business Daily's regular technology commentator Jeremy Wagstaff, disagrees.
