The Sapeurs

The Sapeurs of the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo are members of Sape, the society of ambianceurs and elegant persons.

Inspired by European fashion, they're motivated, partly, by the simple desire to add some pazazz to their lives.

An exhibition of photographs of Sapeurs currently showing in Brussels in Belgium.

The work of Francesco Giusti, Hector Mediavilla Sabaté and Baudouin Mouanda, the show's called La Sape! Gentlemen from Congo.
