In Ivory Coast there is a row about the AU appointment of Cape Verde's former foreign minister Jose Brito as its special envoy to the country.

As soon as this announcement was made, Patrick Achi, a spokesman for the internationally recognised president, Alassane Ouattara, rejected his appointment.

Mr Brito has a long history in diplomacy, having been Cape Verde's ambassador to several countries including the United States, Canada, and Mexico, before serving in a ministerial capacity.

But as Alassane Ouattara's side has rejected him, what is he going to do?

BBC Network Africa's Veronique Edwards put the question to him.
