Once a military ruler in Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly failed to fulfil his ambition to become a democratically elected president.

He has run twice for the top job, but failed to win.

He will make another bid for the presidency in the election due next month.

BBC Network Africa's Veronique Edwards asked his daughter, Hadiza Mohammed Buhari, a lecturer at Kaduna Polytechnic in northern Nigeria, why he keeps running for president.
