In recent months people in Malawi, Cameroon and Uganda have had major public discussions over homosexuality.
Now in Kenya, Prime Minister Raila Odinga says gay people will be arrested.
To find out how his comments went down in Kenya, BBC Network Africa's Audrey Brown spoke to David Kuria, Programme Manager for the Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya.
He began by explaining who Mr Odinga was speaking to when he made the statement.
