African Performance

The 2010 African Performance playwriting competition is now open.

African Performance is a season of drama designed to encourage new African writing.

To enter, you must write a half hour radio play which authentically touches the lives of Africans.

The play must be 30 minutes long when read aloud and must have no more than six main characters.

2010 is a special year for the BBC African Service as it will have been broadcasting African drama for 50 years.

To celebrate, we are delighted to announce that the Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka has agreed to judge our 2010 playwriting competition.
