Results from last week's presidential elections in the Congo have just been released with the incumbent President Denis Sassou Nguessou winning with 78% of the votes.

President Sassou-Nguesso has ruled Congo for all but five of the past 30 years.

Even before the results were announced, opposition groups protesting in the capital claimed the result had been rigged.

Focus on Africa's Peter Okwoche spoke to Thomas Fessy in Brazzaville.
