The newly-elected members of Malawi's parliament continue taking the oath of office in Lilongwe today, in a ceremony that heralds a new look in the balance of power there.

The country's fourth multiparty elections held on May 19th, resulted in a big win for President Bingu wa Mutharika - who secured a second term in office.

The president's Democratic Progressive Party and its independent allies now have more than a two-thirds majority in the new parliament.

Our reporter, Joel Nkhoma met one of the newly sworn in women MPs, Professor Etta Banda.
