Results of a comprehensive opinion poll conducted across 19 African countries have been published today.
This is the 4th round of Afrobarometer, a non-governmental organisation established ten years ago to monitor poverty reduction, economic growth and democratisation in sub-Saharan Africa.
The opinions come from more than 26,000 adults and are collated at Afrobarometer centres in Benin, South Africa and Ghana.
They make interesting, sometimes shocking, reading as our Accra-based correspondent, David Amanor, found out.
