Schools in Wales and Ghana have been sharing their experience of second language learning
English is a second language, for children in the town of Denu in the Volta region of Ghana, and for many pupils in the village of Tregarth in north Wales.
Ysgol Tregarth and Ysgol Bodfeurig in north Wales, and Adafienu School and Great Royal Schools Complex in the town of Denu in the Volta region of Ghana are working together comparing attitudes to growing up bi-lingual.
Welsh children shared their experiences this week on Radio Cymru.
This project was faciliated Sound Affects Where I Live and is part of their new DVD.
The material is designed to support the Key Stage Two Geography syllabus, also the Key Stage 1 and 2 Citizenship Curriculum. The DVD is divided into six lesson topics; Environment, Food and Markets, Climate and School, Language and Nationalism, History and Culture, and Tourism and Change.
