Twenty twinning schools sent pupils to a British Council G20 Schools Summit in London.
Each UK school has a partner in a G20 country and represented that country at the conference. At the end of the meeting, delegates presented their ideas and questions to the Chancellor Alastair Darling.
Almost all the G20 Schools took part in the Cruncharama - read their comments and get involved.

Germany
I have really enjoyed sharing views with other students in the UK and around the world through our school links programme.
Ysgol Dinas Bran in Wales represented Germany at the G20 Schools Summit. They are twinning with Friedrich Magnus-Schwer Gymnasium, Speyer in Germany and many other schools around the world.

France
We're here to change the opinion of the people who are in charge. We have a connection with a partner school in India and communicating with them and finding out their views on the economy has been fascinating.
Reepham High School in Norfolk represented France at the G20 Schools Summit. They have partner schools in France and India.

USA
I am working with schools in Brazil and China and its been interesting to find out what we can do to help them in the future.
Robert Clack School in Essex represented the USA at the G20 Schools Summit. They are linked with Ocean City High School in USA.

India
We're all struggling with the economic crisis but I hope the UK continues to support countries like India.
Mitchell High School in Stoke on Trent represented India at the G20 Schools Summit.

Japan
Our partners in Japan are also feeling fed up about the credit crunch.
Heritage House in Buckinghamshire represented Japan at the G20 Schools Summit and is linked with Kuretake School in Japan.

Saudi Arabia
If the current situation continues it's us that will feel the effects of the credit crunch most strongly.
Park View Community School in Durham represented Saudi Arabia at the G20 Schools Summit. They are twinning with Dhahran Ahliyya School in Saudi Arabia.

Australia
It has been really good to have the opportunity to speak to other people around the world.
Millais School in Horsham represented Australia and Canada at the G20 Schools Summit. They are linked with Mount Gambier High School in Mount Gambier, South Australia and Glenforest Secondary School in Canada as well as other schools in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Argentina
Meeting the Chancellor meant that we could get our point of view across to a politician in power. I hope he’ll put our views to the G20 leaders this week.
Manor School in Nottingham represented Argentina at the G20 Schools Summit and is linked with Southern Cross School in Argentina.

Brazil
It's really important for young people to be aware. Ignorance is a big problem. We are the future and the future starts now.
South Dartmoor College in Devon represented Brazil at the G20 Schools Summit.

Canada
I think we need to look not just at the short term but think long term.
Millais School, Horsham represented Australia and Canada at the G20 Schools Summit. They are linked with Mount Gambier High School in Mount Gambier, South Australia and Glenforest Secondary School in Canada as well as other schools in Europe, Asia and Africa.

China
It's a great opportunity to come to meet the Chancellor and put not only our views across as the youth of the UK but the views of the schools we have been working with.
St Gregory's Catholic High School in Warrington represented China at the G20 Schools Summit. They have two partner schools in China: Xi’an No3 Middle School and Zaude School.

Indonesia
It was a great experience to put our views across to the Chancellor.
Miltoncross School in Portsmouth represented Indonesia at the G20 Schools Summit.

Italy
It's good for young people to come together as a group to discuss things like this, as they come to different conclusions from adults.
The Piggott School in Berkshire represented Italy at the G20 Schools Summit and is linked with ITC Maro Polo School.

Japan
We are the next generation so its only right that our views are heard particularly now as any decisions taken now will effect us in the future.
St Ninian's High School in Glasgow represented Japan at the G20 Schools Summit and is linked with schools in Japan and India.

Mexico
Politicians need to think about tackling the problems on a humanist and environmental level as well as an economic one.
Ulverston Victoria High School in Cumbria represented Mexico at the G20 Schools Summit and is linked with Secundaria Tecnica 44 in Mexico City.

Russia
It made me realise the necessity of being politically aware.
Lambeth Academy in London represented Russia at the G20 Schools Summit.

South Korea
We want to know if the debt which is being accumulated now will affect us in the future.
Dover Grammar School for Boys represented South Korea at the G20 Schools Summit.

Turkey
From talking to our partners in Turkey it seems they're feeling real changes from the credit crunch - even more than here.
Edmonton County School in London represented Turkey at the G20 Schools Summit. They have a partner school in Turkey.

EU: Czech Republic

Grey Coat Hospital School in London represented the Czech Republic at the G20 Summit. They have partner schools in the Czech Republic and Nigeria.
How did they do that?
The G20 Schools were brought together by the British Council to work with their Global Changemakers.
