UK Bulletin
Hi there, I'm Hayley from Newsround. It's Wednesday the 25th of November.
First - it's all over for Liverpool. Despite beating Debrecen 1-nil in Hungary last night, Fiorentina's win over Lyon means that the one time Champion League winners are out of the tournament. Not surprising then that the fans aren't happy......
CLIP: "Europe league is nowhere near as good as the Champions League - I'm gutted" "i'm pretty disappointed with Liverpool's poor result against Debecen" " They should have scored more."
It's bad news for manager Rafael Benitez - although it looks like his job is safe - the club's Chief Executive has given Rafa his full backing. Benitez says all efforts now need to be focused on improving their game for the Europa cup and Sunday's match against Everton.
Better news for Arsenal. They beat Standard Liege 2-nil at home to go through to the knockout stages of the competition.
Also in football news - after pictures showed David Beckham with an asthma inhaler, he's now come forward and spoken for the first time about his condition. Some people have been asking why he hasn't talked about having asthma before. Here's what Becks had to say....
Clip: "I've got a slight case of asthma, which I've had for years. It's just never come out, I've never talked about it, no reason to talk about it, but I think that's just me."
Now with wings and jet engines attached to his back - Yves Rossy was attempting to become the first person to fly between continents by jet wing. But halfway through the flight from Morocco to Spain he crashed into the Atlantic - he wasn't hurt but his record attempt was in tatters.
And staying in the air for a moment - there aren't many things that force a plane to land mid-flight - but when all ten toilets on a Cathy Pacific plane stopped working - that's exactly what they had to do. It seems that a number of the airlines planes have been affected by mysterious toilet blockages. A spokeswoman for the airline said it could be partly down to passengers throwing medicine bottles, clothing and even stuffed toys down the toilet.
OK, that's all from the Newsround team. We're back with more top stories tomorrow.
World Bulletin
Hi there, I'm Leah with the BBC World News for Children. It's Wednesday the 25th of November.
Coming up -
Liverpool are out of the Champions League.
Will swine flu mean fewer Muslims on pilgrimage?
And the blocked toilets that caused a plane to land.
But first - it's all over for Liverpool. Despite beating Debrecen 1-nil in Hungary last night, Fiorentina's win over Lyon means that the one time Champion League winners are out of the tournament. It's bad news for manager Rafael Benitez - although it looks like his job is safe - the club's Chief Executive has given Rafa his full backing. Benitez says all efforts now need to be focused on improving their game for the other big tournaments......
CLIP: "They know that we have to change our target. We have to think about the league, we have to be ready for the Europa league and the FA cup and we have to be ready for the next game."
Elsewhere - better news for Arsenal. They beat Standard Liege 2-nil at home to go through to the knockout stages of the competition. It was these goals from Nasri and Denilson that did it
CLIP: "Good chance for Nasri, Samir Nasri scores from seven yards out..... Denilson shoots and Denilson scores.... Arsenal lead Standard Liege by two goals to nil".
Next up - millions of Muslims are beginning the holy pilgrimage, the Hajj. About two million Muslims travel to Mecca - in Saudi Arabia every year - but this year fears about swine flu are expected to put lots of people off. Because so many people are packed together in the same space - there's concern that the virus could spread very easily. Saudi authorities say they expect forty percent fewer people to make the journey. But this pilgrim - who the BBC spoke to - has not been put off.....
CLIP: "No, no, because the way I think is if I catch something here, it's for the sake of Allah"
And today's question is all about Hajj. We want to know how many times Muslims are meant to make the pilgrimage in their lifetime?
And now for the answer to yesterday's question. We asked you what part of the body asthma affects. And the answer is.....the lungs! Now with wings and jet engines attached to his back - Yves Rossy will attempt to become the first person to fly between continents by jet wing. He's setting off from Morocco in north Africa and he plans to land in southern Spain. It's not the first time the Swiss pilot has made this type of flight - he's already crossed the English channel. As he waited for take off - he told the BBC how this kind of flight works...
CLIP: "I'm like a sky diver at the beginning, because I really go out of the aeroplane in freefall at first and from this freefall deploying the wings, taking the right position, I go really in flight - like a bird"
And staying in the air for a moment - there aren't many things that force a plane to land mid-flight, but one thing that can is blocked toilets! A number of Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong have been affected by a spate of mysterious toilet blockages. One flight from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia had to land in the Indian city of Mumbai, when the crew discovered that none of the plane's ten toilets were working. A spokeswoman for the airline said that the exact cause of the problem remained unclear but that passengers who throw medicine bottles, clothing and even stuffed toys down the toilet may well be partly responsible.
And finally tennis and Roger Federer will end the year as world number one after beating Andy Murray in the ATP World Tour Finals in London. Murray won the first set, but lost the deciding set by 6 games to one. Murray says his serve wasn't up to scratch, but Federer wasn't overly happy with his performance either........
CLIP: "I think we both always come out going hmmm I could have done better, maybe we have a playing style that makes the other player not play the best tennis".
