First up - it's a big day for Andy Murray. The British number is on Centre court right now playing Juan Carlos Ferrero for a place in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. Roger Federer is already through to the last four. He beat Ivo Karlovic in straight sets. Gavin's live from Wimbeldon on CBBC on BBC 2 at five past five.

Onto other news. Ten years ago today politicians in Scotland and Wales started making loads of important decisions without having to involve the government in London. The Scottish parliament opened in 1999 and there were big celebrations. Now decisions about education and health care are made in Edinburgh.

In America there are rumours that Michael Jackson's family are planning to put his body on display in a glass coffin at his Neverland ranch. Jackson lived there for several years, and built himself a huge fairground. It's thought they'll be a private ceremony for family and close friends over the weekend.

Next. The track by American singer Soulja Boy called "Kiss Me Thru The Phone" is causing big trouble for one family in Oldham. They've had dozen of calls from excited fans because their phone number has been used in the song

Last up. Drink lots of water and stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm. That's just some of the advice to help you cope with the scorching heat. The Met Office - which monitors the weather - have issued an alert because the high temperatures can be dangerous if you don't look after yourself. It's the first time in three years that the weather has been so hot.

That's all from the Newsround team. We'll be back with more top stories tomorrow.

World Bulletin

Hi I'm Gavin with the BBC World News for Children. It's Wednesday the 1st of July.

Coming up...

Michael Jackson's body to go to Neverland

More details about the Yemen air crash

And a new Ronaldo for Manchester United?

First up to America. There's reports that Michael Jackson's family are planning to give his fans the chance to say their goodbye to the star before his funeral. It's claimed his body will go on view in a glass coffin, at his Neverland ranch in California. Michael lived there for several years, building himself a huge fairground there. Although these reports haven't been confirmed, it's understood there'll then be a private ceremony.... for family and close friends at the weekend. These kids in LA, have mixed views about the reported plans....

Other news now. More details have emerged, about the rescue of the only person, known to have survived the Yemen plane crash.... which went down off the east coast of Africa. Early reports said the survivor was a 5-year-old child, but it's now been confirmed that the person was a 14-year-old girl. She was spotted swimming among the debris in choppy waters, more than two hours after the plane disappeared from radar screens. She was pulled out of the water, and is now in hospital. The plane, with one-hundred-and-fifty-three people on board, came down in bad weather, crashing just north of the main island of the Comoros, Grand Comore.

Next. The United Nations children's fund, UNICEF, is calling for money to support homeless children, in north-west Pakistan. It's estimated about two million people, have abandoned their homes, to escape fighting between the army and the Taliban. The charity says refugee camps - thousands of which are based in schools - are overflowing. Louis Georges Arsenault, who works for UNICEF, told the BBC that water, power, and health services were needed.

Meanwhile in Argentina in South America, schools have been closed for three months in the capital, Buenos Aires, to cope with the swine flu outbreak. Argentina has had more than fifteen hundred cases of the disease, and at least twenty-six people have died. Two-thirds of the population lives in the city and province, which is going through the their annual flu season - because it's winter in the southern hemisphere.

And for today's question we want to know what is the main language spoken in Argentina.

Back to Africa and Zimbabwe. China has agreed to give Zimbabwe, a massive loan, of 950 million dollars to help kick start its economy. The Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, says it needs some 8 billion dollars, to rebuild the country, after years of economic collapse under President Robert Mugabe. The two men have shared power, since the beginning of this year.

Over to sport....English Premier League side Manchester United, have made their first signing of the summer. The Wigan winger, Antonio Valencia has joined on a four year deal, for a reported 16 million pounds. Many see him as the new Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yesterday's question was all about football. We wanted to know how old Kaka is. And the answer is......27.

Tennis and it's the men's quarter-finals day at Wimbledon. British number one Andy Murray, is taking on Juan Carlos Ferrero. Murray is the favourite to go through to the last 4. And these fans are certain he can do it.

CLIP

Last up. One of UK's most famous sea birds is in danger. The number of puffins, has fallen by a third, in the north east of England - where loads of them usually live. Scientists are not sure why their numbers are dropping, so they're using special GPS logging tags..... to monitor them to try to find out.

That's all from the BBC World News for Children team. We'll be back with more top stories tomorrow.
