Syque Caesar

Bangladesh gymnast Syque Caesar

Artistic Gymnast Syque Caesar was born and raised in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, the son of Bangladeshi immigrants.

Holding a dual US/Bangladeshi nationality status has allowed him the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at international level, initially at the Central South Asian Games where he won gold in the parallel bars competition, thus becoming the first Bangladeshi to win an international Gymnastics medal. He then went on to feature as part of the nation's squad at both the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo and 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Syque is a member of the University of Michigan Wolverines Gymnastics team and has lived and trained at the Ann Arbor college since 2008, winning several accolades along the way.

As things stand, Gymnastics is very much a minority sport in the Cricket obsessed country. Syque hopes that his achievements will inspire people to participate in Gymnastics and act as a catalyst in raising the profile of the sport in Bangladesh.
