Torch visit ignites Olympic spirit

An assembly focussing on the Olympic Value of excellence for Key Stage 2 pupils.

Olympic torch visits Highfields School in Matlock, Derbyshire, on 29 June

Highfields School is in Matlock, Derbyshire, in the UK.

On Friday 29 June the Olympic Torch visited their school.

Team GB women's footballer Casey Stoney also visited. Casey will compete at London 2012.

Excellence is an Olympic Value because of the hard work and effort that athletes like Casey and her team mates put in to win a gold medal.

On the day the torch came, pupils at the school took part in sport, danced and sang in what proved to be a special day because of the Olympic flame.
