This is an assembly about a young woman who holds on to her dreams, and works hard to make them happen.

As this is Olympic year, Namibian sprinter Merlin Diamond is focused on her dream of qualifying for this summer's games more than ever before.

But her journey to London started back when she was at school.

Merlin sometimes struggled at school but succeeded because she never gave up.

Merlin has continued to compete at sport because she says it is fun. Why is it important to enjoy what you do?

Athletics taught Merlin Diamond how to be disciplined from a very young age. She has continued to run because it's fun and now hopes to compete for Namibia at the London 2012 Olympics.
